Her birthday is Sep 5th and the UPS man should be coming today to drop it off. I am going to have it engraved "Happy 19th Christine, Love Matt. It has a large enough handle so I dont think it will be a prob. I will also include a Photon 3 white light in the Spydie box. She walks around her coll...

Get the Native first. It is an great med. knife perfect for most tasks. If you dont care much about handle material get the FRN version. It has a better steel and will stick to your hand better. If you need SS great, it looks better and the steel on that is also very good.

Sal, whats up with this????

I was wondering why you use different steels for different handles on the same knife. You do this on the Delica, Endura, Native, and Calypso jr. I wanted to buy my girl a ss Calypso jr. but it did not have the VG-10 steel I love. I ended up buying her a SS Native, even though it had AUS-10 steel and...

At Friendly's I tell my fellow employies to use my sharpened Delica to cut boxes, fruit, and bags so they dont harm them selfs using to much force with dull knives.

If I where to recomend a good strudy camping knive I would look at www.striderknives.com They make very nice full tang, one piece knives made of ATS-34 steel. I would back a Strider up with a folding Spyderco. Something with a thick tip like the Wegner, which I think also has ATS-34 steel. Just my 2...

30 deg. would be great on the Civilian or Mariarch, but on a knife that does chores it would not be a good idea. Little things like nails, or staples will destroy a 30 deg. sharpened blade. Knowing this I now sharpen all of my knives to 30 deg. I am just very carefull!!!

Prob. not, they just use an actors or directors knife. Unless spyderco gave them a knife, they would not have to thank them.

Although a SS Civ. would be pretty, it would suck at what it does best, defend. It would be more difficult to hold onto a SS handle after getting blood all over it then the carbon fiber or G-10. When your life is on the line, you want to be sure that you have the upper hand in the fight and ss might...

Buy that knife!!!! It's blade is VG-10 steel, the best steel out there. It will cut thru anything, holds its edge very well, and is hard to stain.

Buying a Stainless Steel handle wound not be a good idea being in the Navy. SS gets very slippery on contact of water. If you want a large knife like the Endura or Police look for them both in FRN or G-10. A better idea would be looking into the Spyderco Military. It is a bit larger with a G-10 hand...

I just got a plain edge Calypso Jr. and it is insane. The flat ground VG-10 blade is like a folding razor. It also fits my hand anyway I hold it. A little smaller then the Delica and Native, but so close that you wont see it. Picked it up for $55. Best knife value out there.

New Calypso Jr.

I just picked up an FRN Calypso Jr. plain edge today at my local Remington store. This knife has become my fav. Spyderco beating out my FRN Delica and SS Endura. It is almost the same size as the Delica, so I will compare the two. First the blade. There is no contest who wins this one. The Calypso's...

I like the feel of a liner lock better then a lock back. I can close a liner lock with one hand better then a lock back. Also the liner lock on the Military is alot stronger then a normal one.
