Re: spyderco signal mirror

That's a great idea for a woods/survival knife. My compass has a mirror, so I always figured I'd use that if I were in a pinch, but having multiple signal mirrors isn't a bad idea. I don't have a lot of eclectic with polishing knives though. Honestly, I've always been one for finishes to prevent ref...

Re: Finally Got Burned by USPS

That sucks. I never tell anyone what’s inside, always lie. Like model train parts, or hot wheels, or chess pieces, or legos… whatever comes to mind at the time. Keep us posted This is my go to every time. Unless the guy likes like he collects model trains... then it's just replacement car parts. To...

Good grief! That's my biggest aversion to trying to sharpen my SE knives! Is that just too much pressure while sharpening?

Re: What do you think of the US Army going to the Sig XM5 6.8x51?

I hope using fancy scope technology doesn't start to make our service members less capable with more primitive aiming solutions. Not that I think it should not be done, I think the technology is one of the few ways to increase lethality over past methods, just like using optics in the first place d...

I made a couple of raised garden beds yesterday! The Byrd Hawkbill is the right tool for the job of opening bags of soil. Best budget knife I have purchased in a long time!

Re: What do you think of the US Army going to the Sig XM5 6.8x51?

I'm actually pretty excited to see the military adapt the 6.8x51. I've shot the .308 at 1000+ yards and the drop of the .308 compared to some better BC bullets leaves something to be desired. Granted, the .308 will still be around long after in gone, but it is cool to see 6.8 mm being adopted. Gives...

Re: Anyone use a safety razor?

The sensitive series is the white one. Green is the original I think, with mint, quite „sharp“. Red is sandalwood. Yep. So far I've used the sensitive one and the sandalwood. Both smell and work great. I'm gonna try original next. Let me know what you think. I'm interested in this, but over here it...

Re: Chinese Centering

My tenacious' centering: https://i.postimg.cc/305X1vvX/20220516-080055.jpg Doesn't bother me one bit. The knife is usually on my pocket, or being used. The centering doesn't effect the knifes deploying or cutting ability, so what do I care? It's a tool and performs as such. I doubt most people are b...

Re: A dumb question about assembly/disassembly.

Although I’ve been a Spyderco fan for years, I’m just now getting to the point where I plan on breaking down and cleaning my knives. I watched Eric Glesser’s (super helpful) video about maintaining the Shaman, and had a question for the more seasoned members of this-here forum. As Eric was reassemb...

Re: Chinese Centering

Not gonna lie, I don't care much about centering on my budget/beater knives. My tenacious and hawkbill are both a bit off, but that's what I expect for getting a budget knife. Centering doesn't make my blade more or less versatile.
