Re: WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THIS SQUEAKING??
My Tenacious also had a high pitched squeak when I opened and closed it. It stopped after a couple weeks of daily carry. I’ve never heard anybody else with this issue till now. The knife is now over 5 years old and I still use it even though I have 40 or so higher dollar Spydercos. I may have used a...

Re: Extra coarse/low grit stropping
Gritomatic has sample pack of diamond paste that goes up to 120 micron. I haven’t used them a lot so far but the course grits do seem to work well on basswood. They are almost like plates where there is an initial period where it is very aggressive and gritty then it will even out. The pastes do tak...

Re: What if the Byrd line was made in the USA
I’m pretty sure at one point Sal said one dollar gets you six in China.
So the frn Cara Cara would run about 120.
The Byrd line is an exceptional value and really the only changes I would like to see are some bright colored scales.

Re: Small Knives VS Large Knives
I like to carry both! This is my solution also to big knife/little knife dilemma. In the winter I especially like to have my Military or Manix 2 on me when outside and working with gloves. When I come inside for break and lunch I will use something Delica or Native sized. Most times I’ll have 2 com...

Re: ZDP 189
M4 and S110V OTOH both lose that razor sharpness after the first few uses, which I've heard called carbide tear out. They do maintain decent sharpness for a long time, but being decently sharp is a let down compared to a freshly sharpened blade. Diamond Stones. David Do diamond stones prevent carbi...

ATM I guess my top 3 would be my most carried ones and they would be;
Cruwear Military w/digicam scales.
Black Dragonfly 2.
Hap 40 Delica.

Re: Is there a BYRD in your pocket??
For the past few weeks I've been carrying my Meadowlark 2 frn at work. It is a great knife, I used it a lot when I got it 3 years ago then set it aside. Now I love my steels and tried most under the sun and with that 8Cr13MoV is a great edc steel. Edge holding is good and most time a few light swipe...

Re: HAP40 Stretch
My Hap40 Stretch arrived yesterday and it is nice. One side has perfect lamination line but the other is off but that is no big deal. Super sharp out the box and the grind is spot on. This probably won't get carried till I get bored with my Hap Delica which may not be for a while since I carried my ...

Hap40 Stretch is on the way.
The Delica is awesome, I hope the Stretch has thinner stock too.

Re: Good or bad, biggest surprise of 2014?
The Manix2 S110V was my biggest surprise. Now over 7 months as my edc, sure I carried other knives for many years in a row but this is the longest I have carried a blade since finding the forum here. After carrying the Manix so long I now find the axis lock to be very wimpy feeling. For being frn an...

The restaurants should just do what banks do with pens.

Re: Native5 LW
My Native 5 arrived today and it is a great looking knife. Perfectly centered, shaving sharp, and the grind is spot on. If this was offered as serrated I would of went with that but a plain edge is nice too. This will probably just see occasional pocket time as I normally carry a little larger blade...

The Native and Manix2 are currently in my edc rotation. I have the brown KC Native and recently got a serrated one in S30V with a black blade. This is the first serrated blade that I actually like, it is really great and cuts like nobodies business. Natives are awesome. Congrats on your son. Spend l...

I had a set of Thorogood boots years ago and they lasted me a whole year, which was longer than any previous boot had lasted for me (Dakota boots mostly). Going on 4 years with my first pair of Redwings, and they're more comfortable once broken in, if a tad heavier. Wow, you got 4 years out of a pa...

I used to buy Wolverines but they wore out too quick. So I switched to Thorogood boots and am currently sold on them. No break in period is needed and they are very comfortable. Mine have the composite safety toe and Thorogoods are lasting me a good bit longer. The pair I have now is a year old and ...
