I'm not familiar with CPM-M4 steel. It appears to not be stainless given its low chromium content of 4%. What's special about M4?

My knew knives

So for about 10-15 years, the only Spyderco knife that I owned and used was a Delica-1 SE. Last month I was in the market for a new knife and so I joined this forum to get more information and ask people's advice. Now I currently own a new Caly3 G-10, Rock Salt, Tasman yellow SE, and a SE ladybug :e...

What I don't understand is why people write on a general Spyderco forum and get upset when other people respond in an inflammatory way to an inflammatory post... and then expects Sal to respond in person to their personal knife problem. Sal didn't make this guys knife and has no idea why it isn't pe...

I just cut through an empty heavy plastic half gallon maple syrup jug with my brand new Caly3 to retrieve toys my son shoved down through the small opening. It worked beautifully.

Am I right in my understanding that the ladybug hawkbill would be Sprint run and only sold through the Spyderco Inc store?

Thanks for that explanation. If Spyderco did a sprint run, I just might have to buy one and check it out. It's hard to judge a knife without handling it first.

What is so appealing about the Yojimbo? It looks like a pretty simple blade design. Is there something I'm missing here?

the only care you need to show it is to sharpen as needed. Hey Tony, Thanks for the great pics. Looks like your Tasman has gotten a lot of use. What do you use to sharpen your serrations, do you find the Sharpmaker effective? (I'm new to sharpening, haven't done it much so I'm a little nervous abou...

I'm also in the market for a hawkbill knife, but am looking for one with a SE. Does anybody know of any new hawkbills in the pipeline (besides the ladybug hawkbill) after the superhawk is discontinued. I've been looking at the H1 Spyderhawk, but am a little wary of the H1 steel having never owned a ...

I'm new to the forum but find people's pictures of their knives fascinating. Anybody have any good pictures of self-made handles or sheaths on their Mules?

Factory seconds

Buying on Ebay CAN be frustrating at times. I have gotten two knives that have turned out to be factory seconds. Good knives in and of themselves, but seconds all the same. When asked, of course, the seller had no idea they were seconds, etc. How do you know they're factory seconds? I try to stay a...

Caly3 Question

Hey all, I'm new to the forum and in the market for a new knife. I've owned a Spyderco for years and still use my 1st Gen Delica all the time. One of the best knives I've ever had and I haven't needed a new one. But now I'm in the market for new knife and am looking at the Caly3. I have 2 Questions:...
