I can’t believe this superb folder didn’t sell well enough to be kept in production.

Re: "My dream spyderco would be"...
Re-issue of the Phil Wilson designed Sprig in the same S90V steel, but pushed up to the hardness that Phil would prefer, and ground very thin behind the edge. I rather liked the original handle and sheath, to be honest, so no need to make any more changes to it. Otherwise, my CPM 15V PM2 has turned...

Re: "My dream spyderco would be"...
Excelent thread. I wanted to start a similar one but you beat me to it. My dream Spyderco would be an XL Dragonfly with a 2.8-2.95 inch blade in SPY27, with an improved lockback(internal stop pin). Sal’s best design and steel, brought to perfection IMHO.

Re: Is the Urban back at 2.61 inch blade ?!
The standards n690 version is listed at 2.61 on the website too. The recent Sprint in damasteel is listed at 2.44” so that seems to indicate they changed the length of the standard back to 2.61, but I certainly have no inside info. There's a possibility someone pulled an old spec sheet. If you want...

Re: Is the Urban back at 2.61 inch blade ?!
Hi Marius, Aicolainen, I don't know for sure. We're checking that now, both to see what's on the shelf and what's in print/Digital. We explained it to our maker this past summer to make sure he understood the reasoning behind the length requirement. sal Hi Sal. Thank you for chiming in. It is impor...

Re: Is the Urban back at 2.61 inch blade ?!
The Urban is a difficult one to track because of how many unannounced changes it has gone through but I’m guessing 2.61” is a mistake. Sal has stated that they shortened the blade on the Urban, which leads me to believe 2.5” is the correct blade length. (For what it’s worth, the Damasteel Urban is ...

Re: Is the Urban back at 2.61 inch blade ?!
I missed that, but I remember Sal saying that the Urban was meant to be 2.5" and the new Metropolitan was planned to be 2.61 or so. The Met was planned to be 2.75” AFAIK. Maybe the Met project is droped and they realized that the initial 2.61” Urban was a better seller and a better looker with...

Is the Urban back at 2.61 inch blade ?!
Just saw this in the 2024 Catalog. Is this correct ??? I really hope so !!! I was so dissapointed when they decided to shorten the Urban blade bellow 2.5 inch. This would be great news for me since the Urban is my all time fav pocket knife in the Spyderco line. I checked the official site and the sp...

Re: Newby Spiderco owner
I got an early Christmas present of an Endura lightweight 4. I had never really thought of having a Spiderco before but I really like the wayit feels and fits in my hand. My BIL said it's been his EDC for a couple of years and his favorite so that was what he got me. First impressions are I like it...

Re: Where Have all the Calys Gone?
What about a plain edge thinner bte(and thinner blade stock) Yojimbo , mr. Janich ? This would be the ultimate cutting blade in my book. Not only suited for MBC but also an awesome slicer and edc. Please ! A sprint maybe ?! 🙏 The Yojimbo 2 and YoJumbo are already pretty thin BTE by virtue of their ...

Re: Where Have all the Calys Gone?
Dear Sal: Thank you very much for the kind words. I'm humbled and honored. Back when the first-gen Yojimbo was still in the works, I took a Rescue 93mm and reground it to a Wharncliffe. That "RescueJimbo" had a very aggressive SpyderEdge tooth pattern and, in testing with Pork Man clothed...

Re: Where Have all the Calys Gone?
Thanx for posting that video link. I think it's something that all knife afi's should watch. Mike Janich, in my opinion, is one of the best knife designers of our time. One of the really important things about Mike is that there is no BS. His concepts re very well thought out, and if he says it, th...

Re: Maxamet Sage 5 LW Discussions
Hey Unbrokenchain, Thanx for the thread. I just got my production piece so I get to compare notes. Sorry if the color or steel is not what everyone would want, but there are many possibilities, we build what we can, and we build what you want. Just can''t do it all at once. The Sage Lite weight pla...

Re: Where Have all the Calys Gone?
In each new Reveal I hope to see the upcoming (?) Caly 3.5 LW. To me the clearly more appealing design than the "3", just looking at the specs : - The 3.5 has a PM2 sized cutting edge in a Delica sized handle, while still offering a choil. - The 3 is only 5 mm shorter in carry, but with a...
