how light of a knife do you need. I thought ukpk is pretty light to begin with. Plus, there already is a lightweight ukpk. In either words. It wouldn't be anything special. Not sure what you mean here ... I'm saying that I'm happy with the existing UKPK Lightweight as a platform for the forum knife...

I'll throw some fuel on the fire... Lightweight UKPK anyone? http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/af282/rwb1500/stir_pot.gif +1 I'd love it to be the UKPK lightweight ... actually it's the only one that I could afford at the moment. Also, if I may, Kristi ... can you investigate ways to make the kni...

You get strange reactions from some people but don't let that put you off using and carrying your knives the way they were intended. I had the opposite reaction a while ago when I was chatting with a lady friend and I cautiously mentioned that I carried a knife (expecting a negative reaction) ... fa...

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the costs of registering a handgun in NYC, but the paperwork involved runs close to $1,000. This assumes that some bureaucrat doesn't reject your application "just because", requiring re-application. Ouch!! No wonder armed criminals have to bring...

http://www.trademe.co.nz/sports/hunting-shooting/knives/pocket-knives/auction-451391015.htm It's the standard, and very poor-quality, fake UKPK - as someone has said in the comments. The seller seems to think that if he says it is made by a factory that once did OEM work for Spyderco then that give...

It's a ridiculously tough steel but I seem to remember Farid saying (over on BritishBlades) that he got through a silly number of grinder belts just getting an edge onto a CPM REX 121 knife. This would make the cost of production very high ;)

The point about tactical pens is to give decent human beings a viable self-defense option due to living in an jurisdiction that outlaws guns and pretty much every single other pragmatic self-defense option. My problem with that is that in places like the UK (and I suspect a lot of other countries) ...

Guns are always loaded Guns are always loaded Guns are always loaded....... So true - you have to assume this. I never pick up even my air-rifle without assuming that a round is chambered and ready to fire. So far I have never discovered a round in it because I also make sure that I never leave a w...

Sorry to hear that - sounds like you are stuck in one of those "GroundHog Day" loops. :( We had similar issues here when a chap got his UKPK seized. He phoned and the officer he spoke to agreed that it must be legal and he'd write a letter to that effect ... but the letter he got later rep...

It'd have to be an FRN (fairly cheap) for me to buy it right now and it would be best to make it cheap for the fishing market ... but I think an H1 UKPK/Urban is a really good idea and it fills an obvious gap in the slipit product line. I have a friend who has been looking for a salt-water-proof kni...

On the back of this thread I did some Googling to see if I "needed" (:rolleyes :) a tactical pen ... and came to a few conclusions: they're as ugly as sin and clearly look 'tactical' enough to qualify as a kubotan in the eyes of most police ... thus getting you a trip to the cells if you w...

Personally, I'd love to see a UKPK FRN in H1 ... there haven't been any H1 non-lockers yet :) I do a bit of beach-combing and it would be nice to be able to take a Spydie down and use it without worrying about rusting-out the internals.

I've thought for a while (since the discontinuing of the S30V UKPKs) that a sprint would be really welcome and that micarta is really inspired.
