I'll second that. It's the only way to clean ceramic rods.Sharp Guy wrote: I clean the rods with Barkeepers Friend and a scouring pad.

This is all so subjective regarding the action of this knife. I'll have to get my hands on one before I even think about buying one. There are quite a few negatives for me........ for one.... Flat ground ? Come on guys..... **** it can we get back to hollow and saber grinds. This is the primary rea...

You should maybe look at the Manix 2. No compression lock but the ball bearing lock works very well.

Starmate, Saber ground VG-10 sandwiched between grippy G10 with Liner lock featuring Bob's improved "Walker Lock" mechanism, made in Japan and a classic hour glass clip with up down left right capabilities. One of the last of the old school recipe Spydies . I'm so tired of the flat ground ...

Thanks for sharing. I'm sure there will be many out there who will be thrilled. Sorry I'm not a fan of wire clips. In my opinion, it cheapens the appearance of all knives.

Re: New to the Hobby, with questions.
Stop screwing around with the Lansky, spend a little extra and get the Spyderco Sharpmaker, take the guess work out of it and the failed attempts you will have ultimately have.

Re: Spyderco Knife of the Year 2016
Gayle Bradley2 CPM-M4 CF/G-10 Laminate Why ? Hallow Grind, not the cheap looking and cheaper flat. Carbon Fiber Laminate, well at least there is some carbon fiber to add a nice look. Could have just used all carbon fiber but there's more profit this way. Liner lock, yea its my preference. Tip-Up/Do...

Re: Who Appreciates Spyderco's Serrated Fixed Blades?
I believe Spyderco has the finest serrations ever made. I do not care of serrated blades and I only buy plain blades. In the early 90's I owned serrated Enduras.

Re: What lube do you prefer for smoothness?
The best lubes I've used on pivots would be white lithium grease and molybdenum grease. Nothing works better or lasts longer. Oils do not last on the pivots as well as grease.

[quote="MarcusH"]The Starmate is one of the best designs that Spyderco has ever made, the latest variant is not bad but the original is so much nicer.
Those are some of the best user pics I've seen of this knife, thank you very much.

Re: Starmate Owners Please Share Your Opinions
Big shiny clip, weak detent, thickly ground blade, rough ricasso, high price...there are plenty of Spydies to pick before the Starmate. What would be comparable to the Starmate ? I've not seen anything quite like it. BTW thank you my Spyderco brothers for sharing your gracious and valuable input. A...

Re: Tatanka powerlock problems, anyone else?
Sal, do you people really stand behind your products ? I was told by your staff that my Tatanka issue with excessive tight deployment and a power lock that is very stiff was not a warranty issue ? I'm not happy, actually I'm very frustrated and really very pissed. How can we resolve this ? I want to...

Starmate Owners Please Share Your Opinions
Do you own a Starmate ? Please share your opinion and photos if you wish. I'm contemplating the purchase but would like to hear from you all. Is it really worth the money ? Its VG10 and with a street price over $150, I need to know before I pull the trigger on it. I feel like I got burned with my Ta...
