Thanks but I can't jump quite that high. That seller is price gouging to the point where its offensive.
Thanks again for the link. I appreciate it regardless of the seller.

Re: soak a whole knife in vinegar?

I'd call forced patina functional before I labeled it as cool. I can understand wanting to protect the hidden bits too. I just read where someone had soaked, actually boiled, their whole traditional slipjoint for 15 min in vinegar with no ill effects. Well except for stinking up the house. Differen...

Please help me find Manix 2 Plain Edge 154CM w Hollow Grind

Please help me a find Manix 2 Plain Edge 154CM with a Hollow Grind blade.
Any suggestions ? I've been monitoring eBay, Amazon and a few knife forums without much luck.
Anyone know of a suggestion for a knife forum that is Spyderco heavy or anywhere else ?

Thank you.

Get something that is hollow ground or saber ground before Sal stagnates the entire line to FFG.

Re: soak a whole knife in vinegar?

One of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard. I think you're being a little harsh there, fellow. The brother is only seeking a little advice. Yes, perhaps you're right, my apologies. I think the OP is wanting to add a level of "cool" to his blade and that should be respected however, the me...

Re: Is There Such A Thing As An "Endurica" Hybrid?

Thanks all for the suggestions. I put in order an for a stretch. I don't think I'm going to be able to resist a Para3 either, when they come out. I'm not trying to get into collecting, but I really love Spyderco's story and philosophy and design ethic. I'm hooked. You say that now but these things ...

Re: Is There Such A Thing As An "Endurica" Hybrid?

Here are some more facts that will help if your looking for maximum "usable" handle vs blade length for some of the knifes you've been considering. The Stretch 4.4" ( 113mm) handle length, its curved at the end so there's a chance for a hot spot on your 4th finger. It has a 3.5" ...

Re: Is There Such A Thing As An "Endurica" Hybrid?

You might try a Centofante 3. The handle to blade ratio is good for larger hands. It has a hollow ground VG-10 blade 3 1/8" long that Spyderco hasn't yet bastardized to full flat grind. This is one of the old school knife designs that retains some character to the blade geometry.

Re: Help me decide on a fully serrated?

Thanks zero, when you said you've owned both H1 and VG10 and VG10 holds an edge longer, were you comparing serrated edges or plain edges to each other? I've owned both but I prefer plain edge. Serrated VG-10 vs H1 with regards to edge retention is similar to the plain edge from what I personally ex...

Re: Help me decide on a fully serrated?

H1 is slightly softer than VG-10 and depending upon your usage, your mileage may vary. H1 is about the same as AUS6 in comparison of performance but has magnificent corrosion resistance. There is a lot of speculation regarding work hardening the edge of this steel and taking the HRC level from aroun...

Re: Most overlooked spyderco?

I never got why the Starmate wasn't a bigger hit... Nobody seemed to care all that much when it first came out and here I am trying to find one :p Blade to handle ratio is spot on IMO, style of the Bradley with a little more aggression to it, like the child of a GB and a Centofante 3. Good overall ...

Gayle Bradley II or Starmate mostly.
Sometimes Resilience, Tatanka or Endura.
There are some days when I have a CRKT, Cold Steel, Kershaw or something else when the mood strikes.

However my opinion would be that "steel snobs" such as yourself comprise perhaps 1/10 of 1% of the knife buying public, tops, and perhaps 3% to 5% of those of us who consider ourselves knife enthusiasts. How can you say that and go to any forum including here. Just look at all the post ab...
