Looks a bit like boiler clinker form a steam loco... A real simple definition of "clinker" in a steam loco is "melted ash".. happens when the cold ahs gets mixed in with the hot coal fire, usually from improper firing by the fireman..The ash then melts and the resulting goo-ey me...

Got to admit.. this is one great little knife.. It's taken over daily pocket duty from my Case Swayback Damascus and my Victorinox Camper as the usual in pocket EDC.. I did take the clip off, and its a perfect bottom of the pocket EDC... Fits my hand like a glove, good grippy G10, and as I don't fid...

heh - our Hyundai Accent has manual windows, only powered accessory is door locks (and their not remotely operated, either..) and no air conditioning, either.. just a basic little car.. (and we have a full size spare, too! :) )

Could somebody compare the Lil'Native and the Dfly with regards to comfort in hand? I know that is a pretty subjective request. I too am looking for the perfect urban carry (2.5" or less). Right now I have the Urban and am happy with it. I always figured my next small knife would be the Wharni...

Tried both models in the store, went with the lockback.. Great EDC carry.. was like a razor out of the box, too. Fits me like a glove!

Yeah.. I'd not want to try that with a griz.... seen them at a distance a few times out here in the mountains.. emphasis on distance...

I should add that I really like the blade finish, although it is a bit of a fingerprint magnet.. Fit and finish are really good,smooth action, perfect centering!

Well... finally got down to my local brick and mortar store, and they had regular DF2, the Wharnecliffe DF2, the Emerson DF2 and L'il Natives in both compression and back lock, so I got to handle and pocket test them all.. Ended up with the L'il Native backlock, just fit me like a glove. AND it was ...
