Bram, The Ayoob is a good knife. I like the fact it sits very low in the pocket and looks very PC until it is opened. It is thin and the Almite handle gives it an elegant look. I have been really impressed with the serrated VG-10 blade. To me it is a more practical knife than a Civilian or Matriarch...

Sal, I am also very interested in the Temperance series although I plan on getting the spear-point model. I have not yet read anything on the Temperance edge type (plain, serrated or partial). In an earlier post you indicated that there will only be 75 Temperance's of each blade style produced each ...

Ric24581,

I live near the SFO and got a black gunting clip last week. It looks a lot cooler with the black clip. At the time they also had Skunwork sheaths in stock. I would give them a call.

Pete, Well, I wasn't going to admit this on forums but I am taking Bram's class in Golden and he will find out then. More importantly my story might also help others avoid the same mistake. A kinetic opening done correctly could do significant damage to your opponent. I know this because I did it in...

I also would be interested in such a forum. It seems like a very good way to continue improving MBC education.

Phoenix,
Both the State of Arizona and the City of Phoenix should have websites. There is probably a state law and maybe a local city ordinance governing blade length.

Fannin,

From what Sal has said, I believe Spyderco is working on a dive knife. I think he said that they already have a design and are just working on the finding the ideal blade material. Just for your information Spyderco did make dive knives in the past.

The Military and Police are both good knives but might not be the best for what you propose. It is my understanding that the Military nor the Police were designed specifically for martial blade craft. However Fred Perrin did give the military a favorable review on his web page for this kind of use. ...

KenN, I think there is value in both. It is cool to have a defensive knife that looks like one. I have a Chinook and a Ayoob and will pick up a carbon fiber Civilian and a serrated Gunting when they come out. If Spyderco ever makes the UUK I will get one of those too. And that is definitely a wolf i...

I think I remember Sal saying that the g10 handles on the little Temperance knives were going to be something other than black. I think he also said the same thing about the Military Junior prototypes as well.

I like this idea. How about we try for a sprint run of Titanium Police with the model name "Police" replaced by "Sal Glesser". It could be a written signature like the Chinook or maybe bold text like the Ayoob.

Heyns van der Merwe,

As far as I know (which is not saying much) the serrated gunting as not been released yet. I live near the SFO and they said they will give me a call when they come in. I also want one of these very much. I will revive this post when I manage to get my hands on one.

Sal,

On such a small blade I would prefer the full serrated so that is even better. I will definitely get one. Thanks for making such cool knives.

Serrated Gunting

Sal, On one of your other posts you indicated that the combo edge gunting was not currently on the production schedule. Does this mean that Spyderco might just make the plain edge gunting or just that it might be awhile before it is produced? I have the trainer and was waiting to get a live serrated...

Sal, Does this mean there are not going to any serrated guntings in the near future or that there may be no serrated guntings at all. I ask because even though I have the gunting trainer I have been waiting for a serrated version to come out before I get a live version. If there may not be a serrate...

Matthew, It is my impression that is one of the ways where the opinions of Internet knife nuts differs from the general Spyderco buyer. I have the serrated native and have been very pleased with it. It provides you with the best of both worlds - serrations and a little bit of plain edge. Get one and...

Ayoob

I picked a Ayoob today from the SFO, #486. They had both spyderedge and plain. I prefer Spydercos with teeth so I choose serrated. It is a very beautiful, nasty and strange knife. The black almite handle is very attractive and seems strong and light. It is tip down which I prefer but it has holes on...
