Haha. I just set up Jess as my Collector dealer today. Good to put a face with a name, although I never thought I would see him in this thread.

Greetings...

Received my first Spyderco a little over 2 weeks ago, and today received the following message:

-Ruth

Glad to meet all of you, and look forward to drooling over your :spyder: pictures in the time ahead.

Questions about the manufacture of....

...... Spydercos. Without revealing any trade secrets, if you will, I pose a couple questions. 1.) How do those little holes get there? Is it before or after the heat treat process? Are they punched out or drilled? Does the technique used vary based on blade steel? 2.) How are our knives sharpened? ...

I've not ever owned a knife other than spyderco, so I can't speak about other brands.

Oh wait.. I did own a Leatherman once. It was great though.

Thanks guys for all of the great answers. I tried the search function, but must not have worded my search correctly as the first 3 pages of responses I went through didn't answer these questions.

I will indeed contact Ruth as you suggested. I am already hopelessly addicted to the :spyder:

Collector's Club Questions.

I've read the collectors club is limited to 200 individuals. Are all of those 200 slots filled? I've also read that if you want to be in the collector club you must commit to purchasing every new model that is released. Is the price you pay MSRP or discounted? Are you automatically billed for the mo...

Worker C01 price?

Well I recently began collecting Spydercos. I got my first one two weeks ago and I'm already up to 3, including the new CF Caly 3 ZDP. I've been reading all I can, and surfing the web looking at all the other models both current and discontinued out there. The one I keep going back to that holds my ...

I'm torn.. I was thinking with going with the number 1, much like the winning strategy on the Price Is Right. But after careful consideration I am going to pick the number.... 1000 Since that is what we are celebrating after all. Thanks for doing something fun, and congrats on your accomplishment. :...

I work in a professional environment and dress appropriately. I look like a law enforcement officer and used to teach unarmed combat/defense techniques to them (10+ years ago). I'm often mistaken for a police officer and have to correct people on their incorrect assumption. I excel at blending into ...

It's nice to know I can carry any size knife in this state as long as it doesn't open automatically.

Legality....

I've just recently started carrying Spydercos and frequenting the forums. And I see people discussing the legality of carrying some models. Where can I find the legal limits on the knives I carry by state? I currently live in Indiana, but infrequently travel to other surrounding states. Thanks again...

Thanks all for the welcome and the opinions on a new knife.

I've decided to go with the CF Caly 3, now I'm shopping for a place to pick one up.

Again, thanks all.

I just can't decide....

Hi guys. I'm new to the forums and new to the world of Spyderco. I recently purchased an Endura 4 and Stainless Police model, and I'm now a spyderco addict. I'm looking for something with a more exotic metal than the VG-10 of the above 2 knives, and I'm looking for something in Carbon Fiber. And I'd...
