Re: MAP policy change? 35%

I would also like to add that "academic speculation" on what "might be" is often naive. I was having a discussion with an individual that kept saying that this law should be passed and that gun should be outlawed..... to reduce crime ..... picking this minor refinement or that. ...

Re: MAP policy change? 35%

We've had suppliers drop 50% increases on us overnight. I cannot imagine that anybody, except sole source suppliers can do anything like this. I don't care if you believe it or not. O, Dear. I am sorry, if you took offence. I wasn't questioning your honesty, I was just wondering because your experi...

Re: MAP policy change? 35%

Inflation? So prices should only increase commenserute with inflation? We've had suppliers drop 50% increases on us overnight. Change suppliers. Inflation may not be the only measure but it’s something. Actually, gasoline prices now are the same as 2005 but in inflationary terms lower! Ok. I need l...

We've had suppliers drop 50% increases on us overnight. I cannot imagine that anybody, except sole source suppliers can do anything like this. Few years ago our major customer, medical device manufacturer told us:"If you want 5 years contract, you have to give us 5% annual cost savings. Otherw...

Re: MAP policy change? 35%

Amen. My business deals with these issues daily and I think often people don't realize just how fierce it is out there and just how unfairly lopsided the scales are in favor of unethical entities. I haven't stepped foot in a Walmart in years and only ever have when I absolutely had to and I don't s...

Re: MAP policy change? 35%

Interesting thread. I get the impression that many of you would be happier if we made all of our knives in China (cheap) and only sold to Walmart & Amazon (cheap) so YOU can get what YOU want as cheaply as possible? Or maybe we could get our crew, dealers, advertisers, shippers, suppliers, etc....

Re: MAP policy change? 35%

Thank You Sal. I honestly think if everyone knew how crazy business really is dealing with: fakes, lawsuits, competition from countries with no labor laws, scammers, unethical competition...etc they would really appreciate a business like Spyderco who tries to treat the people it deals decently and...

If you go with the D4 or E4 I would still recommend the orange as it is so much easier to find if you set it on a log or something.

And it happens also to depend on other businesses. Do people here really think Spyderco should not be business-y, but instead a disco...

Manix 2 LW Version Idea

How about a bright blue like the Endura/Delica offering? Steel would just need to be a USA offering maybe CruWear or even S60V for something a little different and keep the price down a bit. Then you'd have the Blue's Brothers: Translucent in BD1, dark blue in S110V and this one. I'd love it as a st...

Re: ZDP 189

Will ZDP ever come in a nicer knife than the line of knives it currently comes in? Perhaps with bronze-phosphor washers, g10 or carbon fiber, compression lock or ball bearing lock, etc? Building on a recent post and because in my mind this is the best knife steel ever created, I think the Seki line...

I'm a firm believer that if a person doesn't own at least one mighty Dragonfly 2, they are truly missing out in life. I know, I was missing out for a long time! It is a great knife that far exceeds it's size. And they make Salt versions. :)

Re: Real World BD1 experience?

... The only thing is, that orange is pretty tempting. Oh now don't get me wrong. I'm giving credit to my BD1 model yes, but I freakin' love my CS exclusive! The orange is awesome as is the S90V. I just think some of these "lesser" steels don't get enough credit in this age of super steel...

Re: Real World BD1 experience?

Revisiting this thread... I've since purchased the Cutlery Shoppe Manix 2LW S90V exclusive and I freakin' love it! I don't have a ton of experience with different steels so I couldn't wait to sharpen it and see how it went. I primarily used the diamonds on my KME and wow, it sharpens up nice. After ...

Hi everyone, quick update.. I chose, and have just ordered... The Manix LW translucent blue! It was the first I had eyes for. Nearly ordered the new chappy, I'm sure I'd be happy with either and will end up with both! Thanks to all for the welcomes and help, can't wait for it to arrive. Joe I think...

Re: Ball Bearing Lock, why not on more knives?

I think the back lock version may be more to do with the original than people just not liking the CBBL. I'm sure it isn't the easiest lock to make, and there's always those who can't exhail without comparing it to the Axis lock and complaining about not being able to unlock it with just their thumb...
