In the case of the Spyderco RIL's the tang has a concave radius, so at some point it becomes virtually impossible for the lock to wear any further, the techno has the most aggressive incline I have seen. I think this is a lower tolerance but more foolproof way to make the lock... But while this agg...

As much as I enjoy these brief flirtations off topic... Back to the Tuff! I value the OP sharing his experience. Arguably, he could have ducked some flak by avoiding comments about "not living up to the hype". Such comments invite defensive responses from Spydie fans. My own Tuff seems to ...

Mine has worn in to the point where it is a satisfactory one handed open and close. Not a flick open but not intrusively difficult. Solid.

I would not patinate the tang and I definitely would NOT wipe the tang with tuff cloth prior to epoxy. Key, clean and finally degrease the surfaces to be glued. I use acetone as the last step before epoxy.

I can see what the Mrs is thinking. "Crap! he's gonna post this photo of us on the internet just because of one stupid knife. I better just pretend I don't mind since this is the first time he has cooked since the kids were born" That's uncanny! Do you have other psychic abilities? (lotte...

21% is not insignificant. Not sure how big a difference would have to be for a user to detect in real world conditions, more than that, I agree.

Southfork in action: mini-review (pic heavy)

I received my Spyderco Phil Wilson Southfork a little over a week ago and I've been enjoying it since. I've lowered the edge-angle a little and put on a 30deg micro-bevel. http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i10/xavierdoc/1bbd9b4c.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i10/xavierdoc/2462ef24.jpg As you...

Yikes. What's the bike? (I'm a cruiser/touring guy, those crotch-rockets all look the same to me. ;) ) It's an R1. Not exactly a tourer but that didn't stop Nick Sanders using R1's for his multiple, record-breaking circumnavigations. A true iron-butt! I had an amazing tour riding from USA into Cana...

Warning: South Fork may be bad for your licence.

In my impatience, I decided to ride to the postal depot to pay customs charge and pick up my new South Fork. Granted I could have paid online and waited until next Tuesday... No chance!! Besides, the weather was good and the bike was calling for exercise. I set the sat nav and eagerly hurried toward...

Would absolutely love to see a sprint run of kitchen knives in super blue!!!! I have thinned a mule Super Blue and it lives in the kitchen, doing great work. However, I wonder if Spyderco will want to be a bit more conservative with steel choice due to the average user's fear of corrosion. EDIT: so...
