Re: Kapara LW?

As Wartstein said, I'm not saying discontinue the current version, but add an FRN one. I think it could be a close to perfect EDC for me, and maybe others. I'd be happy with BD1N, if it would significantly lower the price, and make this wonderful design accessible to more people. As has been propos...

K390 is a rust bucket had it in Police4 and will never buy it again.

If REX45 is worse, really why this discussion?
I have both and the Rex 45 is noticeably more rust resistant. Even used it for food prep and carried it in sweaty shorts without issue.

Re: Compression Lock Military 2 Steel Poll

Oh boy a comp lock Millie would be my ultimate EDC knife! I'd love to see S90V, S110V, or Maxamet.

Re: Sal the Micarta Man - Shaman flavors poll

I'd love to see some blue denim. Green would be great too. K390 is a solid choice, but how about an exotic stainless like Vanax?

Re: Manix 2 XL blade play

I've never had side to side blade play in mine, but sadly, it came with minor, albeit noticeable vertical blade play. I eventually was able to almost completely eliminate the vertical play, by filing the blade tang, and the interface of the backspacer/stop flat. A ceramic ball also helped. Hi Duke,...

Re: Unpopular Blade Steels That You Like?

I'd have to go with 420HC with Buck's heat treat. Surprisingly good gear resistance, and takes a beautiful polished edge. Great for food prep, or wood carving.

Re: The low grit sharpening thread

Admittedly, I just sort of scanned the OP and posts after it, but I got the jist I believe. Personally, I like to consider a bunch of factors in deciding the finish of the edge I achieve — carbide volume, cutting applications, aesthetics, abrasives, hardness, etc. Let’s take two of my recent favori...

Re: M4 Python Micarta Shaman with deep carry clip (custom job)

The wait is finally over, I ordered these scales about 5 months ago and they just came in yesterday. Please pardon the gratuitous post, but I had to show them off :D 🐍 Python Micarta scales by ShepardCC Lanyard and extra clip holes deleted. MXG titanium short deep carry clip. M4 blade and liners fr...

Definitely! I'd love to see more hard-use oriented folders get the 4V treatment - Manix 2XL, Millie, maybe even a Chinook 4?

Re: Native Chief in CRUWEAR???

I don't get the point of a hi-toughness steel in a long, slender, delicate knife like the Native Chief. As others have mentioned, something like S110V or Maxamet would make much more sense. Also, if ease of sharpening is a factor, why not something like AEB-L?

Re: Kapara CQI

My first run Kapara was exceptional - no observed issues whatsoever just had to adjust for the sharpened edge length difference between that and my PM2 for closing without giving myself small cuts on my index finger lol... What were the issues requiring change? Welcome to the Spydero Forums, Kleon!...

Re: Kapara CQI

The Kapara sold out quickly globally so I'd say the chances of getting a pre- CQI one new from a dealer is somewhere between extremely unlikely to non existing. Yep. This. I would love to see an LC200N Kapara though! I'll third that. Kapara Salt please!! LC200N is the perfect match for a food-prep ...

Re: Kapara CQI

I decided I finally want one and messaged DLT on Instagram to ask how to make sure it’s the updated version... they told me they don’t have any of they’re-CQI Kapara in stock so it’s a guarantee. Maybe that’s the same for other retailers, dunno, but DLT is definitely a safe source for it. The Kapar...

Re: K390 vs Maxamet

I believe K390 has a lot higher edge strength. So the K390 will resist chipping more than Maxamet. Edge retention is in Maxamet's favor. Neither will be hard to sharpen with good diamond stones. I even touch up my Maxamet PM2 freehand on a UF rod. BBB has a lot of great videos extolling the virtues ...

Re: Real police 4?

The patina is normal. K390 corrodes very very easily. I've had patina/rust spots develop from carrying mine in my shorts pocket on a 30 minute walk on a warm day. Just make sure the blade is kept dry and oil as needed.

Re: Real police 4?

That looks very much genuine. I got a P4 an few months ago and it is a wonderful slicer. Enjoy! Just make sure to dry the blade after use.
