Re: The Advocate - An Official Statement from Spyderco

To All Spyderco Enthusiasts: The issues that have come to our attention have occurred primarily after customers have adjusted the tension of their pivot pin screws. Respectfully, Mike Perhaps the reason for this is that the customers who sent these knives back were having issues from the get go and...

That sparks a thought what it's name could be...at least at the prototype phase:

Positioning of Spyder on Sage 5

I've been wondering why the logo is placed so high up on the blade on the Sage series. I have several other Spydies, (PM2's, Delica 4, Slysz Bowie, DF2, GB2, Chappie, Native 5, Advocate, Rubicon) and none of them are positioned quite like the Sage. I wanted to possibly grind down the hump on the bla...

Re: Polestar, Urban, Lil' Lum have dropped (Pics)

The Polestar was designed for the scouting market. The North star is the first star to learn. sal Hi Sal, My Polestar will be in my hands tomorrow :) I have a Byrd Raven 2 (which I actually sent in for service last week) and the Polestar seems like the same knife design without the forward choil......

I would love to see a picture of this knife next to a Chapparal. That's what I will be waiting for too Definitely an interesting little knife :D Thanks Spencer and Darby. I'll have to see if I can get permission to post some comparison pictures. :) Thanks Michael. Out of all the new designs that we...

Re: A new fix for the Slysz Bowie pocket clip

HI guys, I would call the SFO back and ask that they send you the proper length Foundry clip, reminding them it's the longer version than the stock clip they sent. I've run into this situation more than once calling them for this clip in the last year or so. They need to fix that glitch in their or...

Re: A new fix for the Slysz Bowie pocket clip

The Foundry was discontinued so maybe they ran out of clips? I have done the above, but I use the etched Foundry clips on my Manix2 LWs because they hit the flat spot of the scale. Never had an issue with the Bowie clip like other people for some reason and I carry it a ton. Good point! I'll call M...

Re: A new fix for the Slysz Bowie pocket clip

The only thing I don't like about ripps is how close to the scale they are at the opening, hard to get over the edge of pocket, I wear carhartts though so might work better on dress pants. Yeah...no dress pants for me with the Slysz. Carhartts, cargos and jeans. Curious if ripp's clip also rests on...

Re: A new fix for the Slysz Bowie pocket clip

I know this is an older post but wanted to see if anyone else has tried this fix. After seeing this post last week, I ordered the Foundry clip and got it in the mail today. Well...the length on the one they sent me from SFO is the same as the stock Slysz clip. No change/improvement at all with the p...

Re: Warranty/Repair ruined my Magnitude!

What a bummer. How did the lock up look after a 1000 flips? I can't believe the edge chipped out that bad after tearing up some boxes. Do you think it was the grind that caused the chips? I am sure Spyderco will take care of you. I didn't notice any detrimental change in the lock up at all. After a...

Re: Warranty/Repair ruined my Magnitude!

That really is a bummer man, I'd be upset too. I agree with jtoler, give W&R a call and give them a chance to make things right. In the future you might try a sharpening service like RazorsEdge or something. I've received a few spydies with wonky grinds that were not easily fixed on the Sharpma...

Re: Warranty/Repair ruined my Magnitude!

Although I can understand the frustration. I think I would have started by contacting W&R again to discuss the issue. I have found the folks at Spyderco to be fair and reasonable every time I need them. Good luck with your Magnitude. It's a cool blade. I hope to get one someday. You're right......

Hey guys! I'm new here but been a knife knut since I was a little kid. Spyderco has always been a brand I've drooled over since I got my first Tenacious...maybe around 8 years ago.
