Re: S35vn on the Tenacious...what does it mean?

My first thought is that this will open the door to all kinds of new options from the China partner, which is exciting. My assumption is that the existing partner will be making it simply because Spyderco seems to do everything possible to maintain existing relationships As a side note, I'd be part...

Re: Please Pardon the shameful sales pitch - Rock Jumper

Well...

The PM2 Tanto broke my S30V boycott...

VG10 was out of the question until this knife, so then if I'm gonna order this when it drops, now I cant wait, so I went ahead and ordered the Dragonfly Wharncliffe in VG10 to hold me over until then.

Re: Spyderco in use, review/feedback thread

Very impressive!!! That's some accurate testing right there. I'm surprised Spy27 outperformed M390 by that much. When SPY-27 was released I dismissed it after it was said to have comparable performance to S30V. Well that was based on CATRA. Good thing BBB was over on Bladeforums debating the merits...

Re: Spyderco in use, review/feedback thread

I've been able to complete testing of the Delica in M390, S90V, and K390. I push cut brand new cardboard purchased from Home Depot until the knife no longer easily slices through paper both with and against the grain of printer paper. I tested sharpness against the printer paper every set of thirty ...

Re: So what's your top 3 favorite steels? and why?

My 3 favorites have changed a lot over the last several months. I've gotten a lot of new knives since then. I can no longer pick a favorite between my top 5... none are stainless. In no particular order: Cruwear, 4V, REX-45, HAP40, Maxamet, K390... wait that's 6 Just count HAP40 and REX-45 as one an...

Re: Rex45=Hap40?

As others mentioned, compositinally the two are very similar, almost the same. As delivered by Spyderco, the difference between the two seems to be the hardness and the fact that their HAP40 has a stainless SUS410 outer jacket. Neither HAP40 or REX-45 are stainless. Whether the assumed lower hardnes...

Re: The perceived need for instantaneous one hand operation has driven folding knife design into a dead end

The growing list of various one-handed mechanisms, in my mind, are the big advancements and innovations in the knife industry.

I made a nasty burr while reprofiling my tenacious. What’s the best way to knock it off?
Without knowing what sharpening tools that are available to you, the best thing I can say is to use alternating passes with light pressure.

Re: Please Pardon the shameful sales pitch - Rock Jumper

I think that I want the Rock Jumper more than I want the Stretch... Simply because it's role in my carry would compete with the PM2, and the Stretch in that regard seems duplicative. The Rock Jumper however appears to be a knife that will be better suited for different things, especially scoring and...

I think the best value is the Manix 2 LW in REX-45 that's currently in the process of being released at various dealers.

Re: Where does SPY27 Steel sits among the current Steel lines?

Has the price been discussed? I'm surprised to see this sit so far above S30V ($98) and Rex45 ($122.50) at $140 for a Para 3 LW. If composition and performance is supposed to be similar to S30V and S35VN, is the improvement worth 40%+ more in cost to the end user? If the end user typically uses the...

Re: Spyderco 2020 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

Knife Works has more of their 600pc sprint/exclusive Delica S90V available.

This has "sold out" multiple times. Maybe they're just releasing these in small batches.
