Kapton washers

Mods, please delete this post if it’s deemed not appropriate to the forum. Hi guys, does anyone have some old Kapton washers laying around that they’re willing to part with? My old black Military from ‘96 needs some new washers as the old ones are a bit chewed up. I believe Spyderco stopped using th...

Re: Vintage Military

The beauty finally arrived today. I love it. A Military from the first batch back in late 96.
Still has the black finish on the edge. It’s been opened and closed a few times but that’s about it.

Re: Detent ball size

Spring tension is the main factor I think in keeping the ball in the hole, not the size of the ball. I’ve seen several Strider folders which use a large diameter ball and hole which are easily overcome because the tension on the integral lock was a bit weak. Easily fixed though. A very large ball wi...

Re: A plea to Spyderco:

I’ve always thought that Spyderco Knives have excellent edge geometry.
Most of the other big brands do have thick edges and serrations that don’t align properly with the straight edge.
Don’t change a thing Sal👍

Re: The Species ( or type) Of Spyder That Hooked You?

The original Military got me hooked on Spyderco.
At the time it was one of the bigger folders on the market and the handle just melted into the hand. Superb design. Gotta love the thick spine, the slightly forward belly and needle point.

Re: Reasons for "offset" blades?

Can be for a variety of reasons. 1-The blade can be ground slightly asymmetrical, occurs sometimes on the larger blades. 2-The handle can be bent due to handle screws tightened up while the blade is not centred. 3-The handle slabs can be misaligned, ie one slightly forward of the other making the pi...

Re: Spyderco's GOLDEN OLDIES: Your Top 5??

Great idea for a thread! 1- C36 Military circa 1997/98. 2- C55 Starmate 3- C07 SS Police 4 - C15 Bob T, G10 5- C50 Centofante II I love the evidence of some handwork on the original Military. It seemed to have new improvements every second week back in those days. There were many combinations availa...

Re: We are saved! Baseball Season is here!

I long for the day that we have robot umps and DH in both leagues! The strike zone should always be the same no matter who's umping, to this undermines the pitcher and hitter and it's rarely consistent. With the exception of MacLaren's boy Madison Bumgarner and a few others, watching pitchers hit i...

Re: We are saved! Baseball Season is here!

It took me 50yrs and 17,000kms to get there. Trip of a lifetime. Got to see the WTC memorial and museum, Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building, Central Park, the Strawberry Fields memorial to John Lennon, met some great characters, got booed at Fenway Park, saw the White House, Lincoln Memorial, Ar...

Re: Vintage Military

The more I carry my Millie's the more I love them. I have a BBS S90V (the smurf blue) which is probably the sharpest knife in my admittedly smallish collection, and a 52100 which has probably the smoothest action. Every now and then I see a "first generation" Military on ebay, and I think...

Re: Vintage Military

This one finally arrived today. Fully serrated ATS34 model circa 98. BNIB👍 Nicely centred, perfect lock up ( didn’t even need to adjust the eccentric pivot pin) and razor sharp. This one is like a chainsaw. That's funny, I think I still have that exact magazine. I love seeing these old millies. A M...
