Re: Spyderco Siren CF/S90v Sprint…In The Wild!
Hey Lance, I guess you could buy some, sign them and sell them? Or have customers send them to you to sign, but being where you are, that could be problematic. I use an engraver that Tim Leatherman gave me to sign blades. sal Hey Sal, I’ve done that a few times for friends on this forum but yeah, i...

Re: Spyderco Siren CF/S90v Sprint…In The Wild!
Thanks for sharing , my thoughts are exactly in line with yours . I’m glad they introduced this version so in the future there should be more demand in another saltwater variation . MG2 I know some people might think it weird (given that the Siren is a Salt knife) but my second most desired sprint ...

Spyderco Siren CF/S90v Sprint…In The Wild!
Sooo, I received an early sample of the S90v Sprint and thought I would share a few initial impressions and a photo. I’ll try to do my best to set aside any bias and offer some objective thoughts. First though, here’s a quick photo in the wild. https://i.imgur.com/twYrnDu.jpg First thing I noticed w...

Re: Falling out of love with serrations
If I’m carrying a single serrated knife as a dedicated EDC then I prefer slightly less pointy/aggressive for the versatility. If I’m carrying a serrated blade as a secondary blade for a few very specific tasks I might prefer the pointier tips.

Re: Falling out of love with serrations
I cut real things...not paper I'm not quite sure why you're so against making the scallops work to your advantage? That's kind of like saying I'd rather use a dull knife than a sharp knife. Would you say a rope, a strap, a catgut or a fresh bread are real things ? Just curious… Sometimes grabbing t...

How corrosive is zombie blood? Do we really know? Maybe Rock Salt or Waterway. Modified whale release blade?

Re: micro-beveling - when to reprofile?
I microbevel all my edges. The main reason is ease of sharpening and edge maintenance. Once I have my primary bevel set, I can bring my edge back to hair popping sharp in about 10-20 seconds on the Sharpmaker. If you are hitting a true microbevel then it only takes 6-8 passes to bring a edge back t...

Re: Calendar contest prize giveaway contest! ENDED
I couldn’t even figure it out with the red marks showing me what I was supposed to be looking at.
That photo was a lot of work. Glad it made the calendar. Like I said earlier, that’s one of the most “syderco-ey” photos I’ve seen submitted. Tight work!

Re: Sharpening Maxamet?
My Manix is about 11-12 degrees per side with a tiny 15dps microbevel. I’ve used it off and on as my regular edc for a couple of years and have never seen ANY edge damage. Very easy steel to sharpen too. The edge retention to ease of sharpening ratio of this steel is excellent.

Re: Siren CF/S90V Sprint!!
For my uses (fishing, beach, kayaking) the only ways to improve the Siren are to make the scales a bright color , and the steel MagnaCut. I'm not even sure I'd prefer that over LC200N. The linerless, checkered G-10 of the current model is perfect, except that it's too dark. I can see how this new m...

Re: Reveal 11 Live!
Call me crazy, but I don't get an S90V Siren. Yeah, I know all about S90V, so someone explain the logic in this to me. Please. Magnacut I could understand. S90V...nah. I think anybody who uses one is going to find corrosion, and probably sooner rather than later. The edge will hold a long time, but...

I had another look and this is harder than I thought. I’m posting my guesses just for fun but I’m really spitballing on most of them. Again, NOT AN ENTRY, just wanted to play.

Re: Calendar contest prize giveaway contest!
I’ve got some pretty good guesses based on both blade shapes and the knives I know you own. I’m not playing but I’ll write mine down just to see if I was close. Congrats on the great photo. That’s a how to say Spyderco without saying Spyderco photo if I’ve ever seen one.
