I have a wire clip on my Meerkat. The weight, look and hold are fine. Well, change that... the hold is too good. That darn wire hook catches on pants pockets like none I've ever owned. IMHO it needs to be tweeked before it can compete with the original clips. Gary "gotta go sew my Dockers...&qu...

Hi Spydernut... I own two snap-its; one black and one red/black. I use them for backpacking and like the hook. However, the hook does interfere with the length and full use of the blade and the snap is not a positive locking carabiner. It can slip off (I've lost one that way.). I keep mine around my...

Santoku Takes the Gold Medal .....

I love to cook and love my cooking knives. My newest performer, the Santoku, takes the Gold Medal... while my usual high performing German knives have settled down into the Silver and Bronze Medal categories. Yea... the Winter Olympics have captured me.. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 heigh...

Sounds good to me Samo... <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> But, I'm afraid if I offered WWF, beer and frid chicken to my loved one on V-Day... I'd have my head pile-drived through the living room floor. Oh well... maybe I'll lock up my Spydies and offer it to her... <im...

Whew!! In my opinion you just broke the best sharpening system there is!! It sounds like you were not using it correctly. My knives are sharp enough to shave with and I never heard of a 204 breaking. I'd buy replacement stones, re-read the directions, re-watch the video and then try again. Gary... <...

I hear you clear... tell it like it is! That's the least we can do for Spyderco.

PS: I haven't seen a Salsa at a dealer yet. Have you been buying them all up as an investment? ... <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

I'm holding my final opinion until I see and hold a Salsa... However, based on what I've seen so far... I can't imagine buying one! I hope I'm in the minority on this one, but this thread seems to support my initial opinion. From reading some of the messages above I sense that some feel nothing nega...

Hey Samo...

Is that a concealed Spydie I see hidden in that implant? No, guess not... just a shadow. Oh well, it would have been a good idea. We would have then called you "Sheath Samo".

Mend well,

Spyderholic,

Glad you came out of the accident ok.

What do you think caused the accident? Do you think the other vehicle maybe had a big magnet in the trunk? If so, with all those tools the accident was unavoidable... <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

I love the Sentry line of products. A few drops of Tuf-Glide on the joints and mechanism followed by a wipedown with Tuf-Cloth. Take a look at it http://www.sentrysolutions.com/products.html

Ruxton... you'll like the 204 as much if not better than your Spydies. The video and documentation are excellent... yes, idiot proof. I agree that I'd start with a smaller knife and work your way up to the bigger or more intricate blades. Good luck and enjoy. Gary PS: Although the 204 is idiot proof...
