Re: Polishing Lil’ Native G10 scales?
Very nicely done. Thanks for sharing. How does it feel now in hand? It feels like a completely different knife for one. For whatever reason, the knife feels a whole lot more dense as well, though that may just have to do with something I did reassembling it. Obviously with less texture grip is decr...

Re: Polishing Lil’ Native G10 scales?
So, tonight I went for it between church services and this is how it turned out. I placed a sheet of sand paper in a tray of water about a quarter inch deep and gently worked it back and forth for a while, progressing from 350 to 600 to 1500 grit. I am extremely pleased with the finish the 1500 grit...

Look guys! I’ve got something other than a Casio digital square! Wearing my Citizen BM8240-03E on a red leather Barton band with my polished G10 Lil’ Native.

CruWear! CruWear is always the answer. Basically stainless in my experience.

Re: Just for fun. What configuration?
Fixed blade: that custom Vanax Waterway Lance has, exactly how it is. It’s hard deciding a folder because I wouldn’t necessarily carry the knife that I would enjoy configuring daily, so I’ll split it... EDC folder: Transluscent white (clear) Manix LW with satin/stonewash Vanax SC blade. Cool configu...

Re: Official 2021 Discontinued List
That does really stink to see the mountain shirt go, that’s probably my all time favorite design, colors are great too. I may have to order one or two to have as backups while I still can. I would still love that design to be made into a hook-backed patch I can put on my backpack.

Re: Lightest Weight Spydercos...?
I had a feeling there was personal bias against them, because objectively they are a no brainier. If that’s the case, I’ll throw my hat in with the Manix LW because they are just great knives, though you will pay a weight penalty. Also, keep in mind that the Street Beat weight is also likely without...

Re: Lightest Weight Spydercos...?
And when I say the best outdoor steel that’s tuff and rustproof I am speaking of LC200N, not the H1 models. Granted, the Salt 2 in LC200N isn’t out yet, but it’s coming.

Re: 2 brand new Native 5 LW problems
I’d take advantage of Spyderco’s and warranty and send both in. Hopefully they can take a look at what’s wrong and find out what’s breaking down in the production to be causing these sorts of issues.

Re: New'ish addict......
Has to be a typo, I had to look it up because I thought that was a bit fishy...and it is. I didn't find the exact number, but it's said to be over 40 variations of the Leek. Must be 700 knives he has total or something, which definitely doesn't make him a "newish" addict! Probably in deep...

Re: Lightest Weight Spydercos...?
I’m not sure why the Salt 2 and Pacific Salt are omitted from your chart, I really hope that does not mean you are overlooking the two most fitting and capable knives for the mission you are outlining. Lightweight with the the best outdoor steel you can get, rust proof and one of the toughest out th...

Re: Lightest Weight Spydercos...?
If you wanted to shave a few grams you could probably take off the pocket clip and carry it in the pocket. I’m not sure if the given weight of the ARK is with or without the sheath, my assumption is that the weight is without the sheath, in which case you might end up being able to carry a Salt 2 wi...

Re: Lightest Weight Spydercos...?
I’ll emphasize what’s already been stated that the knife that likely fits your application best is either a Salt 2 or Pacific Salt 2, especially the new green versions with LC200N steel. Very lightweight linerless handles, tough corrosion proof steel, functional design. The Centofante 3 is a crimina...

Re: ESEE Knives
The Waterway definitely looks like it would be a great replacement. And in regard to a hatchet vs. machete, I’ve really learned just how useful a machete can be with chopping wood, maybe even better than a small hatchet. I helped my brother-in-law with a tree removal (little taller than the 2 story ...

Re: Production knife classics? (Modern)
“The” Ka-Bar. You know the one you are picturing right now, that’s the one. For multitools, the classic Swiss Army knife. For folders, I’d have to say the Buck 110 and the Spyderco Police SS.

Re: ESEE Knives
I have an ESEE 3, I bought YEARS ago. I personally think it's one of the worst knives I've ever owned. It holds an edge for seconds and then it's a butterknife. Bleh! It lives in the glovebox, just incase I need to dig a hole, or pry something. Haha. It's great, as long as you don't need to cut any...

Re: Delica tip shape Bother anyone else?
I am also one who prefers the “reinforced” tip on the new Delicas, Endura, Pacific Salt etc. I prefer it for both practical and aesthetic reasons. There are many more cases where I want more tip strength than when I need a pointier tip. And the times I do wish I had a pointier tip, I’m probably doin...

Re: Sharpening system for the blind
I am not visually impaired at all myself, however I will agree with Surfingringos statement that the design of the Sharpmaker uses our very natural ability for vertical alignment, and the Sharpmaker provides a very tactile experience during sharpening. In my own use I wrap my finger right at the bas...

Re: Boye dent poll. Let your voice be heard or be a sheep in a herd.
I voted to keep it, but I’m more indifferent than for it. I’m not against them by any means, but if I knife is designed without it it has no bearing on whether or not I’m interested in it. It is nice to have, mostly for indexing for me, but I’m not losing sleep if it’s not there.

Re: Happy Halloween! Meet the world's spookiest Watu!
I thought you guys would appreciate this more than most of my friends do :D Isn’t this the truth? This is why I don’t carry an nice/expensive knife to impress people, because most people will be just as impressed by a $15 rainbow Amazon knife lol. Great looking knife though!! I love that bead, and ...
