At the moment I like the ball bearing lock.
Liner lock is next although I have had problems in
the past with over travel of the locking
bar on the tang (Khalsa). I also like the
Axis lock and the Reeves Intregal lock.

Ugly Spyderco knives?
I have owned nearly every Spyderco since the 90's and have lately gotten turned on to the so called "ugly knives". It took me a while to get used to Eric's Scorpius but then I discovered his DoDo and Poliwog and then I began to like ball bearing lock knives and had to have a Phoenix. Next ...

Gun/knife lubricants & rust preventatives
This may start a hailstorm of posts as everyone has their favorites. SS doesn't rust except under severe conditions and H1 is better. Still you need lubrication fingerprint prevention etc. My favorites are Sentry Tuf-Glide lubricant and rust protection and the Sentry Tuf-Cloth which is impregnated w...

Lasting friendships on the forum
I became friends with Alex (Dialex) years ago before he began designing knives for Spyderco. I got to know his family through emails etc. My wife and I both enjoyed his Web Site and his potential. Congratulations Alex. I met BH49 (Roman) after buying a Calypso Jr. from him. Roman is a straight shoot...

Orange G10, flat grind. Does anyone
know how many of these were made
and why they are so scarce? I think MRSP
was about $140 when new and market
price was about $100.

Calypso Jr.s
Dennis: Beautiful photography! I wish that I could emulate it. Roman: I carried the Caly 3 for a while and then went back to the modified H1 Salt. Old habits die hard. I still carry the modified Dragonfly and as usual a small SAK for every other task. Jerry

My recent collectable and under rated knives
Spyderco makes a knife for just about every application. I like to collect knives that are out of production as just about any Spyderco will work as an EDC. I also like knives that I consider as milestones from Spyderco. The most recent knives that I have purchased (2 each) are knives that have a sp...

Calypso Jr.s
I have some of the newer Calypso knives but these are all the original Calypso Jr. knives with no SS liners. As you probably know the blades tend to drift as the FRN on some of them can't compete against the pressure of the clips. Luckily all the blades on the knives that I have are centered and wit...

My Calypso Jr.'s
This is from an older thread. Lots of good pics. McHenrytl's post inspired me to post a pic of my Calypso Jr.s. I have all nine that were produced with exception of a few that may exist in myth only. All are NOS with boxes except for the SS PE which was refurbished by Spyderco. I have many more Spyd...

Nice bunch of knives you have there. The adventure of getting them is part of the experience.

Here's Mine
I have an assortment of about 25 Spyderco's but for the last year this Dragonfly that I modified seems to be it along with the indispensible mini SAK that I keep in the watch pocket of my jeans. I probably need a paradigm shift as I carried a gray Calypso Jr. for years before this.

Great Service!
I can't say enough about the Spyderco warranty crew. I like old Spyderco knives as well as new ones. I have gotten several early knives from ebay that were pretty much trashed cosmetically but the SS models are basically indestructible mechanically. I spent time with a profile stone and emery cloth ...

C96 Spyker
Hi: Am watching my grandson in VA while his parents are out of town. I found a NIP Spyker going down to the wire on ebay (complete with pouch, certificate etc.) and bought it. I think I got a good deal since I got it for $100 less than it was selling for at Osogrand 5 years ago. Looking for any feed...

Patent dates on clips
I was fortunate enough after a year of searching to complete my C52 Calypso Jr. collection and you are probably sick of hearing about it but it was a small victory for me. The SS knives were the hardest to find but I eventually came up with 3 in pristine condition. I have a question about the cut of...

Welcome!
And as Roman stated "welcome to an addiction". I have had a great many knives in my lifetime starting as a pre-teen. Over the years they have come and gone but there is just something about Spyderco. The design, the quality, the excellent support (and warranty) staff. Charlene and her co-w...
