Interesting topic. I will give my two cents based on my current job situation - which is - I dont have one. I used to make good money (and hope to again) and bought what I wanted (not overly so) and when I wanted it. Now, Im not overly materialistic, but I have over 50 Spydies. I promised myself whe...

Totally agree with your swedge comment only since I love mine and use it. I understand they tood the swedge for balancing the knife a bit more, but you are dead right - it removes a comfortable thumb rest for some push cuts. I tried to use it to carve some walking sticks and often do thumb on spine ...

The thing I like about this design for utility work, etc. is that 1) you dont have to worry about a tip breaking off - as much as I LOVE my P2, I worry about that tip and 2) this is more important for me - I can open, deploy and use my Breeden quickly without having to worry about stabbing anything ...

Great story and great that you can share that with your dad. My dad passed away last year - unfortunately, I was not able to make him a Spyderholic, but did buy him a couple of knives. In memorium, I bought a Bradley Air to carry with me all the time. I also found his old Boy Scout jack knife that s...

Agreed! Jeff is a good guy and gives great customer service. Try Cutlery Shoppe. I have read about others liking as well. Usually among the lowest prices around. I now buy most of my knives from him now. Not sure if I can post link but a simple google search with store name will get you there. Plus ...

Aaack! I hate those conversations! They think you're some kind of nut. And the 'look' - you get. LIke what kind of weirdo am I working with. Makes me say in my head...I repeat...in my head...in response to your boss. "I dont use them as weapons either - unless to educate some narrow-minded, pre...

OK, finally got my latest project done...I really, really like my Techno, but as some of you guys know, I dont really like rounded spines or as I call it 'humpy spines'. So, I finally had a fellow forumite mod blade spine for me to more a straight spine - essentially, got rid of the hump. Apologies ...

I'm still laughing. LOVE that the salesman wanted to go again. :D Even better was the lame threat of "You're an idiot, I'm gonna kill you!" while he was hanging on for dear life. The other amazing things were 1) that the guy did not have a heart attack - he didnt look like he was in very ...

Agree with you. I love mine. Its a great utility user. Good to work chores with quickly. No need to worry about stabbing anything or snapping a tip off. It is not a great RFP carry, though. Takes too much room up if you really need to get in your pocket for anything. Also one of my smoothest opening...

I have carried mine - Orange UKPK. I really like the design (Caly 3- like) and colors, but prefer to carry something with a lock. I have forgotten that it was not locking since 95% of my Spydies lock and I have had the blade close on me. Of course, the finger in the choil design worked, but I just d...

I can understand the shock/anger of some folks, but I have to say that I appreciate seeing how much abuse that knife took before breaking. Just gotta regrind that blade and he has a Paramilitary with a liner lock...I certainly dont condone abuse like that, but its his property and if he wants to sho...

I would agree with you. Trying to take off the shoulder with the brown stones will take forever. I had a Rookie with the same problem and bought the triangle diamond stones to do that - and that took forever (to me at least). I like sharpening, but I dont like reprofiling...takes too much time and t...
