I've given away a few vg-10 Delicas to deserving people. I believe I would actually place a preorder for a HAP40 Delica and D'Fly if given the chance.

Re: Kiwi4 redemption
You've given me another nice thing to think about the Kiwi4 regardless of how enjoyable it is to use :)paladin wrote:

Re: most underrated/overlooked spydies
Speaking of FRN, few of my few remaining have the longevity of use of this Caspian. Beautiful piece of very tough sculpted H1. The picture is when it was younger, has quite a few more scratches and a finer edge now :)

Re: Kiwi4 redemption
+1 gbelleh :D
For folks with shorter fingers like mine it seems a shorter distance from hole to pivot works better for one hand opening :) 2 hand opening works fine as well :)
As long as I can keep up with a blues lead and the finger picking I'm OK. The knife just does the cutting :)

Re: Kiwi4 redemption
Understand the one hand opening concerns completely :) I only have 2 models that I open one handed consistently, the Native and Urban Leaf. The rest, if one handed opening doesn't feel right, I just open 2 handed. For me, the in hand feel trumps. Different hands like different things for different p...

Re: Kiwi4 redemtion
Hello Ken, your best bet is to get it out of the box and use it. At least that was my experience.

Re: Kiwi4 redemtion
I guess we're all in the "more far out" category :) I transition to "just nuts" from time to time ;) ZDP in this model would be sweet provided I could afford it when it came out. For now I'll enjoy the VG-10 and the comfortable capable feel the Kiwi4 gives. I have a bit more oppo...

Kiwi4 redemption
While purchasing a :spyder: Santoku and Cubic Zirconium rods for the SM I had the opportunity to include a kiwi4. Out of the box I was a bit disappointed, it felt rough with some side to side play open. The action felt very rough and unfinished. All of the edges FRN and steel felt very sharp. I simp...

Re: Knife Noob Deciding On First EDC
Welcome Shield,
You also might want to look at the Native. The FRN version is quite affordable and very comfy in hand.
A good thing about Spyderco is that there are many flavors to choose from :)

Re: Slipit with the best backspring?
The spring is certainly a part of the equation. Another important part of the equation is the notch on the blade that catches the spring. I've taken a side off of both the g-10 Urban and black frn pingo and both of the notches seem to be hand made  Notch spring interaction most likely plays a l...

Re: Celebration!!!Carraca glass knife GAW
These three are standing out in my mind right now, Caspian, Pingo, and Techno. The Caspian Salt is always there riding in my lunchbox. It is a rock! It never rusts! H1 takes a nice edge and is easy to sharpen :D It has been used for everything from sandwich cutting to clearing old fishing line on th...
