Persian

I saw the Spyderco Persian while browsing and really like the looks of it. I'd like to hear what Persian owners like and dislike about it.

Thanks

Bob, Thank you for raising a man with the courage and commitment to serve our nation. There are many good choices. In addition to those mentioned previously, you might also consider the fixed blades by Chris Reeve (especially the Nkonka in CPM 3V) and the Anza Boddington. God bless you and yours, Ea...

vampyrewolf,

Please expand on your experience with ATS-55. What are its advantages over VG-10?

I appreciate the detail you gave on care and sharpening of VG-10. Any recommendations on ATS-55?

Thanks,

Thanks for the link, Joe. I have been reading and re-reading a 1998 version of your Steel FAQ for the past year and have found it informative. Your new edition is a most welcome update.

I believe ease or sharpening is affected by wear resistance rather than hardness. CPM has a great discussion of tool steel properties (Hardness — resistance to deforming & flattening; Toughness — resistance to breakage & chipping; & Wear resistance — resistance to abrasion & erosion)...

Anza PK4 - sharp, stout, and tough 4. Victorinox Officer Suisse, a long-time favorite. Thoughts on the future: 1. William He...
