I'm pretty sure that was the whole point of the Manbug, the pivot is much stronger by materials alone.
Stainless steel frame > linerless FRN handle ;)

Don't have much info on it myself, other than Spydiewiki suggested around 2002 for time of production.

A huge +1 to this Some people seem to have misunderstood OP's point, he wasn't requesting more smaller knives, he was asking for a sub 3" blade to be used as a platform for sprint runs in exotic steels. Currently the best steels from that you can get in such a package are ZDP-189 and S35VN (up...

I don't think the colors would be very visible on a perfectly flat surface, they are layered after all. To get the layers out you would either have to round and contour the scales, or machine some type of pattern to them. If you are skilled enough, you could epoxy 2 sheeths together to get one thick...

First I used BM BlueLube since that was the only knife oil I had access to at the time, worked well. A while ago I got some Quick Release ( http://quickreleaseoil.com/ ) and i can honestly say there is a difference. It doesn't leave a dull looking coat on my blades (like the BlueLube did) it makes m...

Seems like the seller doesnt really have an idea if it's real or not, either he doesnt know or is playing dumb to get it out of his hands (highly possible considering the price).

Thought I'd share what I found in my parents closet a couple years back: http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t210/Krepo11/Russian%20Kindjal/Kindjal14.png Some research revealed its a double-edged Russian Kindjal short sword, apparently used by the Cossacks. Tang stamp idicates it was made in 1...

I've seen this when I've sharpened with the Sharpmaker, the way the edge layed on the stone was probably a bit off. I remedied it by using the corners of the rods and finishing only the tip with the flats (no difference in sharpness whether you use flats or corners). Though I have never had this hap...

A foliage green G10 Endura (discontinued) handle with a FFG ZDP-189 blade from an FRN handled Endura, G10 Enduras came with FFG VG10 blades. ;)

(You can't just mix and match different model parts, re-tooling would be required.)

Jack, by trainer he was referring to a trainer to practice flipping a balisong, not a trainer for martial arts. And you need actual metal parts to achieve the same feel and motion of an actual blade. ;) I made one cheap balisong into a trainer, just took a metal file and rounded the edge and tip, it...

Unfortunately it already has a couple chips so i dont think its quite as strong as the factory coating, or it may be too thick. I also didnt use primer because i wanted it as thin as possible. If you prepped the area it'd probably hold up better, since the clips finish is a high-satin, the paint do...

AFAIK they DID use 3Cr on the Grasshopper, I have one from the first runs and it doesnt have a blade steel marking which would suggest it is 3Cr. Nice to see the upgrade though. :) Also they seem to have upped the MSRP in the process as well, for example KW stil has the Grashopper listed with 15$ MS...

Where did you get that lanyard for the ladybug man? I could use one of those! Most of us probably make our knife lanyard ourselves, I included. The Kiwi's with various inlays are the the first generation Kiwi's, they were made like that from the factory. (2nd generation Kiwi was an all stainless steel one.) They had a backlock and were made in Seki with prices above 100$ or so. The Kiwi 3's that are now available are a different model (Chin...
