I hadn't really considered it before but that's a really nice knife - very pointy. Made slightly smaller and "slipit'd" and it'd make a nice EDC for over here :)

Would be extra nice if the G10 UKPK came back with a higher-end metal, like CPM-S90V, CTS-XHP or M390 :D

FRN-based knives tend to be lighter and cheaper ... but I think the cheapness isn't an indicator that FRN is worse but more that they are produced it bigger runs and G10 is a little more costly because it has to be cut & shaped, where FRN is molded. I like FRN because the knives tend to be light...

There's always the upcoming Native Slipit too, which looks to be a really nice G10-based knife :)

The "regular" one is fine, I'm sure. The upcoming ZDP will be very nice but the SB is one of those knives that becomes part of your soul. At least it has mine ;) Same with the GB. Hmmm, you've just got me dreaming of a flat-ground UKPK in SB ... mmmmmmmm :D Now that would be an interestin...

I was going to suggest the FFG G10 UKPK but, as has been said, for people that like locks the Chaparral has to be high on the list :)

I'd like a UKPK FRN ... full-flat ground, in a higher-end metal like damasteel, CPM-S90V or even CTS-XHP :)

The Bob-T slipit and the Kiwi3 are quite nice gentleman's folders ... or as close as we have had in the slipit line :D

I think what you collect should just depend on personal taste & budget ... but what you EDC is a combination of local laws and the task at hand :)

I re-wrote the ending because since most people don't want to stab someone we think of stabbing with knives from a "victim" point of view, not a "protecting my loved ones" viewpoint. That's true Jack ... though if I had to protect my loved-ones in the heat of the moment I'd prob...

Most times I get good responses but the other day I happened to use a FRN UKPK in front of a lady friend and the conversation went something like: Her: "Ohhh, what's that for? Stabbing people?" Me: "Not at all, you see - it's just a tool for cutting stuff..." Her: "What stuf...

Mine is usually my FRN UKPK, with the clip removed - very light & very slim - fits great and I hardly feel it back there, even when sitting on a wooden bench :)

I voted "no" but not because I think it is a bad idea (the Lava seems a nice knife) but mainly because I can think of a lot more knives that I'd like to see first and Sal and the guys are already run off their feet :D That said, if the Lava were modified to be a slipit then I would certain...

I have used Linux professionally and at home - both desktop, laptop & server installations. As an operating system it works well but it isn't as user-friendly as Windows ... but there is a lot of help out on the net from the user community. Also, as has been said, there is great free software fo...

Don't limit the idea to the Para - I'd love to see the UKPK FRN in a premium steel. We have had S30V on the UKPK G10 and I love the N690Co on the Squeak but I'd really like to see M390 or CTS-XHP or CPM-S90V on a really lightweight (and cheap!) platform like the FRN :)

Just remember facebooks code isn't the best. There are ways around all those privacy settings. Best advice is just not to put anything you wouldn't want the entire world to see up there. Absolutely - I am a fairly open kind of person but there's no way that I put anything on Facebook that I wouldn'...

I'm pretty sure that the FRN is strong enough - besides, it just sandwiches the metal parts and the steel screws hold it together. The issue is probably about getting the new spring design right and testing the longevity - there have been issues with spring snapping on older G10 models that had poor...
