Re: Did you know?
Here are pictures of both with the same grip on them. I find that without doing a back and forth A/B comparison, e.g., carry one on one day and the other on the next, I can get used to either one. The Manix 2 with it's more pronounced finger grooves-especially if I place my hand in the forward posit...

Re: PM2 S35vn Possible fake need help
mc_laren, With regards to the grind on top of the Round Hole, I think that’s normal machining and grinding tolerances. Here’s a photo of a gray Para 3, a green Caly 3, and two Chaparrals. That edge on the Para 3 looks the most crisp of all of them, but it's “soft” on this one compared to all the oth...

Re: Force To Open/Close A Blade Changes
Interesting... and weird I live at about just 430 m (= 1410 feet), but very frequently hike or run or climb (or partly drive) up to between 1500 and 3700 meters (= 4920 to 12140 feet). Climate can change a lot either concerning humidity and so on Never experienced what you describe! Could be of cou...

Force To Open/Close A Blade Changes
Has anyone else ever seen this happen? I've driven from Colorado (CO) to California (CA), then back. When I last left CO I had the blade opening friction adjusted on my Para 3's set the way I like them. When I got to CA two days later the blades had a lot more drag. The first thing I did was to make...

Re: Sharpening a Knife
I've use a Sharpmaker for more than 25 years. I upgraded to the latest model in the past couple of years because the Tri-Angle rods can be used at different angles now. I've got the diamond, brown and white Tri-Angle rods. Here are a few things I've picked up over the years. I can't claim any are an...

Re: Strongest EDC Steel?
I've looked at different bar graphs, read different articles, and collected knives with different steel. I think CPM S30V, or CPM S35VN are very well rounded steels for the average user. A new one that's in that same neighborhood is Spyderco's CPM SPY27. There are several types that will hold an edg...

Re: The best part of giving away a Spyderco...
I and a few coworkers are known carriers. Sometimes we'll do a pocket dump and check out each others blades. Our lead tech has walked into the lab and caught us in the act every once and a while and it appears he has an interest, but doesn't own or carry a knife. He really took an interest in a frie...

Re: NSFW We lost one of our own today (open at your own risk)
Back in January one of my cats CATapulted off the bench launching both white triangles off the bench. One triangle hit the other and took a chunk right out of the edge in the middle of the triangle. Luckily I can still use them both. When sharpening curved blades I can steer around the missing chunk...

Re: Post a spydie and a gun thread
Someone on one of the S&W forums started a photo thread of "Revolvers And Knives," so I threw this shot together and submitted it. One of my "helpers" was sitting on the windowsill above the glass swatting her tail back and forth. I had to time it right so I didn't get a tail...

Re: Benshot Lil Native Rocks glass
I took my Rocks Glass into work to show it to some of my coworkers. The knife carriers thought it was great and even the non-knife people were impressed by it, too. Whether they imbibed or not everyone thought it was cool and unique.

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
I used my new Endura W/Emerson Opener to slice up an apple, and an onion, avocado, and a tomato for a salad. Then, I opened a box of Trader Joe’s Tuna Burgers and the vacuum bagging Inside. I bought this model of Endura to try out as a kitchen knife. I wanted a lower height blade, edge to spine, but...

Re: Benshot Lil Native Rocks glass
I got one yesterday. I find that when I pick it up by the finger choil the edges are a bit sharp. I’m going to break the edges with the Sharp Maker rods.
