Re: Pick my last Spydie of 2015!
That's the problem with having too many good choices! the HAP40 sprint Endura (or Delica!) is an obvious suggestion, since this one is only here for a limited time. as far as pure utility combined with pride of ownership I'd say Sage 1 or D'Fly G10. I own both and don't have any regrets! Para 2 is a...

Re: Any kitchen knife experts around?
I concur with whats already been said, we use a bamboo or nylon board at home. Hey speaking of kitchen knifes and the food industry, has anyone heard from Endgame (Patrick) lately, seems like he hasn't posted up on the forum for a very long time, I hope he's doing OK, I know he had some medical iss...

if you follow Scandinavian tradition the handle would be spalted curly birch, perhaps with reindeer antler accents and brass or colored separators if you want to get fancy.

Re: H-1 Electrical Conductivity?
I don't know this for certain, but IIRC the tougher ceramic blades found in folding knives (usually black rather than white/translucent) are actually an aluminum core with the outer surface chemically converted to ceramic, so even one of those may have potential to conduct electricity. AFAIK the whi...

Re: Spine Thickness Sprint?
I would love a Native5 ground as thin as a Delica. A Sage1 with 2mm stock like the Chaparral would be hard to resist. I would like to see a sprint run of zero ground knives. I'd agree that an even slicier N5 would be cool, but with a tall blade profile like that you could probably just grind for a ...

Re: Where to buy replacement screws?
I generally shudder when I see posts the mention a Dremel tool, but in this case I agree. I've had great luck with the thin emery cut-off wheels on small fasteners. They cut quickly and safely, are generally easier to make an accurate cut with than a saw, and leave a generally neat finish that you ...

eye surgeons and many lab applications use diamond blades these days as well. I'm sure each has its strengths.

Re: Any kitchen knife experts around?
Stone "cutting boards" are for pastry or candy making, due to the smooth surface and ability to stay cold for a while. Friends of mine were given a hand forged Japanese sushi slicer and used it for years on a marble pastry board. It took hours to re-bevel the blade after all the damage tha...

Re: Where to buy replacement screws?
OTOH, there are only a small number of SAE miniature machine screw sizes in the range that might possibly be used by Spyderco. I would assume the same is true for miniature metric machine screws as well. So, finding a screw of the proper size should not be too much of a problem. Finding one of exac...

Re: Where to buy replacement screws?
I use a Chicago as a household tool, at which it excels, being sharp, unthreatening and always to hand. However, over time the blade has become badly misaligned, rubbing on the liner, and one of the screw heads stripped in trying to loosen the scales off to remedy this. Does anyone know where repla...

Re: Lost My Chinook: Please Share Your Loss Stories
I haven't lost a Spyderco knife *yet* but my worst cutlery "loss" was a vintage Schrade hunter auto, that my room mate's scumbag friend stole out of my apartment... not only are they worth several hundred bucks these days, but it had belonged to a close friend who passed away, I'll always ...

Re: Share your tiny fixed blade knife
If I had the tools I would be popping out little knives like these on a daily basis. Maybe that'll be my next hobby. I have made a number of Scandi style knives for friends and as woodworking tools, you can buy great blades for just a few bucks, then a drill, belt sander and wood finishing/ leather...

Re: Sal what are the longterm Caly plans?
I really dig the proportions and ergonomics of the Caly/UK pen pattern, so losing all but the FRN version from the lineup would be a bummer for me. Though I already have a Ti UK and a Caly 3, so short of losing or breaking mine *I'm* all set. I'm with Lance on the idea of making a new refinement of ...

Re: PM2 (finally!)
And to the OP, you will soon find that one PM2 is never satisfying...in fact, you'll need endless PM2s! dunno about endless, but I can certainly see one or two more coming, certainly the S110V and maybe the BHQ M4 Exclusive... the problem is that with all the other great new offerings from Spyderco...

PM2 (finally!)
Since my attempt at purchasing an S110V PM2 is on hiatus, I decided to snag a brown S35VN version, as they were in stock *and* on sale at BHQ. All I can say is wow. The ergos, F&F and size all add up to an amazing package, no wonder the PM2 is so popular! My Manix 2 feels like a brute in the poc...

Re: Olight? Thoughts?
I'm a bit baffled by the need for a flashlight to have a User Interface... sometimes a stick that makes light come out one end is enough and the only "interface" needed is a button to make it turn on and off ;) This is one of the reasons I like that LED lenser V2, just on/off buttons and r...
