Re: Is it possible to get a ballpark ETA on DLC Military 2's?

I'm holding out for the SE/DLC, but mostly just for SE. I have an ocean of satin PE S30V and I know no matter how amazing the Military 2 is, it will get put away and never used again once this knife is available in other steels.

Re: I'm having a Multitool midlife crisis

I'll only buy made in usa getber multitools. And I really don't buy anything else from them. I'm not a huge fan of the company :) but I like helping usa jobs .. they make a pile of junk id be ashamed to put my name on. To bad really 😕 I have two of those OTF tools. They're not terrible but it seems...

Re: Caribbean: it’s that time of year again…

One of the things that put me off the Caribbean was (surprise) not the bumblebee color, but rather, the width of the handle. If we could get a smaller version that would be amazing. The Lil Temp 3 is fairly close to being a Lil Caribbean, but it still has the tall handle that you don't like. This c...

Re: I'm having a Multitool midlife crisis

I guess I never followed up on this thread. I did end up returning the P4. It had the tools I want but the tools themselves were not up to par. I also got a Rebar. I liked it but it was too small. The weight was nice but I had plans for bigger tools than the frame would accept. I ended up buying 3 d...

Re: Caribbean: it’s that time of year again…

The Caribbean is such a generally useful design! My #1 wish for Spyderco is to "un-salt" the Caribbean: make a LW model using a different steel for the base model and 4-way carry. It really isn't impossible, but it might take a dealer commissioning an exclusive. They did it with the S30V ...

Re: Knife trends you just don't understand?

Sharpening notches, easily the most common reason I don't buy a lot of knives from a lot of brands. I can make exceptions for a lot of things that I may not love, but I simply refuse to buy a knife with a notch or dip in the ricasso or whatever it's called. The only time I break this rule is for vin...

Re: You guys can keep your straight spine Stretch

David, thanks. I had a feeling a bench grinder was involved, didn't think about a Dremel though. Putting a straight edge along the spine, I can see it's not really not much metal being removed, but it's a dramatic change in looks. Guess I'll stick to my original plan and think on it some while I us...

Re: Machining marks on BNIB 15v Shaman?

I have similar lines on my Shaman and both my mules. I assumed they were stubborn leftovers from the blade grinding process that didn't/couldn't come out during stonewashing. I have had similar lines on other models/steels so I didn't think much of it.

Re: You guys can keep your straight spine Stretch

Instead of buying a new Pacific Salt SE on the Summer Sale, I bought this guy on the secondary market. It's used and needs sharpening and hopefully I won't botch that up, I do have a Sharpmaker. As is it just tears paper, but it did destroy a cardboard box pretty easily. David, I was admiring the w...

Am I the only one who wants a Salt Chief with SE Magnacut?

Nope, have been asking for SE Chief ever since I first handled one, and getting it in MagnaCut/Salt form would be amazing.

Re: LeafJumper

… Actually, I was just about to ask this thread if anyone had a Serrated LeafJumper yet? The leafjumper appears to be ground a little differently than the RockJumper. It is most notable in the images of the serrated LeafJumper showing 8 large scallops rather than the 6 of my serrated Rockjumper. It...

Re: Any hope of Plunge Lock versions of existing models?

OK, I see your point, The Caribbean is a little longer, taller, with nice serrations, and a nice belly. https://i.imgur.com/nrriAye.jpg I've found that if I go a while without handling the Caribbean, the Autonomy 2 feel just right to me. It's only when I start making direct comparisons that I start...

Dude… what is going on right now? This is even more out of the ordinary than debating about the Military 2 name. Ok ya know what, I'll tell ya. Re: Military 2 Discussion (Merged)

I think you and Mushroom are the only ones offended by this and it really seems to me are the ones making this into more than it is. I've got an equal lack of give-a-crap for what me or anyone else calls it as I do anyone who cares what I call it. This is the stupidest thing I've seen debated on th...

Re: Military 2 Discussion (Merged)

Like I said it's one thing to say the Military 2 draws inspiration from Para 2 design cues. That much is obvious. It's another to tell Sal he named his knife wrong. Not sure why that's controversial here. Normally you guys are more respectful towards him. I think you and Mushroom are the only ones ...

But I will say this, I'm gonna buy one and have it engraved with "I'm a Military 2 but I identify as a Para 2 XL" and I'm gonna pee my pants laughing every time I open the blade.

Re: Military 2 Discussion (Merged)

Well what's really happening here is they made the same or similar changes to the Military to make a Military 2 as they did with the Paramilitary to make the Para 2. The funniest part about this is nobody would think twice if you called a Military 1 a Paramilitary XL because it literally is that. I ...

Re: Military 2 Discussion (Merged)

I just think it's a bizarre reaction. I think I've been here since 2008 or so, and I can't remember anyone ever trying to say a knife is named wrong, and it should be called something else. If you think it's stupid when I point that out, I can live with that. I see things here I think are dumb, but...
