As some of the others stated, I live in California as well. Most people could could care less about what's in your pockets. I dropped my knife once in the mall and some people backed up wide eyed staring at it, but that was the only instance where people were "afraid" of my knife.

I usually just tell them its a pocket knife. Most people won't freak out unless they see you whip it out and flick it open. But of course, you always have to be aware of sheeple

+1 on this. The sharpmaker is the easiest and simplest sharpener to use and it gets you fantastic results. Its easy to get your knife sharper than factory with the sharpmaker.
