I would second the ferry ride from Wellington to Picton, hiking on the glaciers (Fox and FJ). I also enjoyed the "Pancake Rocks" at Punakaiki. Be sure to go to the Milford Sound. Simply, spectacular! The same can be said for the area of Queenstown and Arrowtown... anywhere with a view of T...

We are training our 1-year-old to climb and descend the stairs (in a controlled manner) in our house. We have a gate, but it's often left open for convenience of running up and down the stairs to the laundry room / pantry. Also, he's seen his 4-year-old brother climb over the gate enough times that ...

I have a couple of Surefires, Inova and Fenix lights. I have no problem using one over the other for routine tasks. I don't do much tactical work, so my life is not dependent on any single light. I am involved in Search and Rescue and always carry more than two lights in my kit. A Fenix P2D with the...

Are you going to be on both islands? Lots of good stuff to see and do there... what are your interests? That will help narrow down some activities and sights to see.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I didn't get anything sharp and pointy for my birthday... directly. An extra bit of cash will find its way to something with a hole in it, I'm sure.

RLR - love the orange X-Terra. Is that a SOXC sticker on the back window??

NoFair - gorgeous old Porsche. Keep giving it a good run every now and then, they were made to be driven!

Along the same lines - we got "The Dangerous Book For Boys" for Christmas. I think my two little guys will have fun learning a bunch of the stuff that is included in the book.

I love the CLB Bokers as well. The SubCom family is great. Small size that packs a big punch. The Trance is a great EDC knife that I'm not afraid to beat up (because of the price) and it's easy to sharpen up again. I'd like to see another CLB design with a hole in the blade. Seem to be a good marria...

I'd cause myself some serious injury on a two-wheeler. They're too much temptation for me. They're ridiculously fast, and can stop so quickly. No, as much as I would like one... I'm now restricting myself to a big, slow 4WD - in the dirt, where if I fall I don't get hurt too much. ;)

What type of ratio do you mix the glow powder and epoxy at?

How much comes in a container from Glow Inc.? Is it enough to do several items with a bit of the powder mixture?

Anyone got any more ideas of stuff to 'customize' with this stuff? Knife, flashlight, baby's soother??

SOG Seal Pup Elite

A buddy of mine is looking at the SOG Seal Pup Elite. He was wondering if there was something else that was very similar that he should be looking at as well as (or instead of) this knife. I thought I would poll the collective wisdom of this forum for a few suggestions. Price is important - as well ...

I keep a Raven in my tool box 'just in case'. It's sturdy enough to handle all kinds of tasks, yet inexpensive enough to not worry about it too much, and to keep my EDC knife in better condition. A great cost / benefit purchase.

The new impact drivers are nice - smaller than a drill, hammer action, lots of torque... If you are planning on using it to drive a screw, I'd look at one of these over using a drill for the same task.
