I've been really wanting an ATR since I first get a taste of the comp. lock. I a Ti sprint would be amazing.

I really like the old original UKPK with a FFG S30V blade best (I have it in G-10, it's still available in CF and Ti). It has the nicest blade lock, beautiful build quality, and is my favorite design, being based on the Calypso Jr. I really like my Urban as well. The LW UKPK's are good if you're on ...

There are already plenty of knives in Spyderco's lineup using Japanese steels so I'd rather see them stick with non-Japanese steels for the knives made in Taiwan. As for shiny smooth CF, to me it's ok for display pieces, but the Chaparral is too good a user to handicap it with slick scales when the...

To be honest, I do tend to baby some of my models that are not easy to replace--older sprints, discontinued models...ones like my ZDP Michael Walker, Pearl Kopa, CF Stretch and Red Persian. That's not to say that I don't use them, I just won't do much heavy duty cutting, more regular EDC stuff like ...

I really hope that in the near future Native5 will have good sales and Spyderco will treat us with few sprints of Native5. That's exactly the one I was thinking of. The Native 5 is looking like a great model to be used as the sort of "hallmark" Golden model in the 3" range, much like...

I got my brown XHP Military for $142, less than most standard Military models are sold for. That's because I knew that is a knife I absolutely was going to want, so I made a pre-order as soon as the opportunity arose. I have never, ever, once missed out on a sprint run that I got in on early . If yo...

My first thought was the Caly 3. It's intentionally constructed to be as thin as possible, using pinned construction except on the pivot (all torx construction would make it thicker) and no washers, specifically to create a nice, slim design. It, along with the 3.5, are the easiest carrying knives I...

I really do love my Superleaf. It was one of the "sleeper" knives where I was interested enough to get it, but after using it, I'm definitely more impressed than I expected. It's probably my 3rd or 4th favorite mid-size (3.5") knife, and there are a lot of greats in that category (Str...

As previously mentioned, Flitz polish is what I use. VG-10 will also get little stains from finger prints, etc, if not wiped off. Not a big deal, but I have removed them before using Flitz. Nowadays, I usually don't worry about little stains. Although I don't know if they are "brownish", m...

All 3 you mentioned are top-of-the-line. Amazing knives. If I had to pick my favorite out of them, I'd have to say the Caly 3 CF always will have a special place in my heart. However, for a user, I love the Sage 1, it has such class, and the fit and finish and smoothness in deployment is just phenom...

I'd take a currently used comp lock over an axis any day, way stronger detent, and IMO a more dependable design. The axis locks I have messed with, I always noticed how the closed detent was very weak. Also, I have heard multiple reports of the "omega spring" breaking. That's not to say it...

LOL :D Also received the 3.5 recently. One charming piece of work! I really love that knife and looking forward for the aogami piece. However I had another issue. If you close the blade and let it 'kick' on your indexfinger there is very small space before the edge begins. It bit me two times alrea...

Dang, that's pretty! I may pick one up if I can afford it. However, I'm happy with my Para 2 in Gray G-10, and the 20CP will surely outperform S35VN by leaps and bounds in edge holding. Steel a nice combination of materials. I did pay like a dollar less for my 20CP sprint though than this costs ;)

My Para 2's had a tiny bit of play, as did one of my Manix 2's, but as JimP said, tightening the pivot screw will help. Now non of my knives with the new bushing system have play. PS-oops, didn't see your last post. Yeah, I didn't know it could be adjusted either until I just tried it one day...and ...

Thank for the pics, finedges! I can't wait to get mine, the brown G-10 looks so handsome. This, along with my Manix 2 in XHP and my Para 2 in 20CP will give me a nice mini-collection, the triumvirate of earth-tone G-10, Carpenter Steel sprints. I wouldn't mind a Para 2 in XHP and Tan G-10 or somethi...

My votes are Caly 3 or Sage 1. Sage 1 is smoother than the Para 2 for me, and smoother than the Gayle Bradley. It's my second smoothest next to the Chokwe, which is as smooth as a Sebenza. And the Caly 3 in polished CF and ZDP steel is simply my favorite compact EDC folder in existence. It's build q...

Although I know it works well, I'm a little squeamish about putting soap and water in my pivot. I am just anal about getting water in the pivot, because it can be hard to get it all out--sometimes I have to wash my knife and when I do, I blow it out with compressed air afterwards. Usually, my proces...

Yup, Tuffthumbs appears to do some really nice work. Another one I've seen that seem to produce really sick scales, although it's based in Europe, is 'cuscadi' (custom scale division). One thing that seems awesome about them is they have a wide variety of awesome materials available, like many color...
