Re: "As close to perfection as possible" folder from Spyderco?

It’s a wonderful design Sal but you might want to do something about that Seki backlock. It’s so frustrating when they develop blade play. I owned 3 Caly 3.5 in ZDP and they all came with significant vertical blade play from the factory. I had to sell two of them and only keep one for my collection...

Re: "As close to perfection as possible" folder from Spyderco?

Probably a Stretch2 FRN. I don’t have other variations but every time I hold and use mine it immediately reminds me of how Spyderco is different.

Re: Are We Ready Yet!!?? For A Newer/Better Hawkbill?

It’s a shame the Lil Matriach didn’t really catch on. ........ I don't know if you guys remember but besides the possible FRN Superhawk sal ALSO mentioned possible plans for a Lil Matriarch Salt. Both projects obviously being 2023-2024 should they happen. But if all goes well very exciting things i...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

It’s easier to do an aftermarket regrind than integrate a 4-way clip and upgrade to a CruWear blade.

Tank half full! Lol (sorry)

Re: Are We Ready Yet!!?? For A Newer/Better Hawkbill?

It’s a shame the Lil Matriach didn’t really catch on. It was an impulse buy and now I wish I had spares.I’m pretty sure Bento Box still has a ton of their PE exclusive…I’ve had that in my shopping cart many times :). Nice size, stout tip, not quite as “round” when folded compared to some hawkbills m...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.

Yea, I’m interested what Haunted ended up with :) Spyderco has some wild blade shapes. Belly isn’t always “efficient” in a knife but it adds versatility. A modern leaf/spear/drop point can do almost anything even with teeth. If you are measuring performance strictly with material cut per static pull...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

Tuf-Cloth or even an occasional wipe with mineral oil goes a long ways. Corrosion like all wear is intensity x time.

I adore the knife for many reasons (mainly being weird) and while it would be great for defense that is a very deep topic with so many options.

Re: Schempp Kukri?

I would think the Cho would have a minimal impact on impact strength but most kurkri’s are exceptionally thick. Fixed blades aside, I adore my original folding Schempp Khukuri. I actually had it reground so the full edge near the pivot was sharpened which makes it much nicer to use but probably like...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

I expect it’s just a naming convention. The old one was HG so I wouldn’t expect this to be different. In general though, a flat primary bevel instead of a concave one using grinding wheels. More material for lateral support. Frankly if so just more justification for an aftermarket regrind. Love me a...

I’d like to see a Cento 3/4 in a different steel. Mainly just the chance of a different color FRN with that Paladium bug. Burgundy, yum :)

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

Thanks RamZar! I just stumbled upon the release. My initial inquiry was based on prereleased photos on knife sale sites and sometimes those are a bit different than the actual product. The description though is perfect confirmation. I think for this knife the carry options will be a game changer.

Nice to hear from you too JD! I’m trying to pop in here more often.

That’s great, David! This just seems a great model to benefit from tip up carry. Regardless of the zip tie the handle curve just seems more comfortable.

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

I’ve see a number of sites listing a PE and SE as “coming soon” with prototype photos.

Can someone confirm if this will have a 4-way clip?? If this is true it might a fantastic one to Ziptie (even if just for nostalgia).

Re: Packing Tape vs Blade

For most tape problems simply pushing the adhesive forward the edge with both thumbs until it’s gone works. I’m sure there are better solvents but two thumbs are alway in my EDC kit.

Re: Blade in handle

I’m trying to recall how deep in the handle the edge is at 4am but never found my Sage2 alarming. Sharpening removes very little blade material. I think if it gets to the point the blade is catching at all, let alone unsafe, you put it through countless sharpening sessions and it’s service life is w...

Re: Blade HQ Jade/M4 Dodo SE coming

I adore M4 but it’s a bit less hot than it was a decade ago and still just as corrosion prone. Just gotta keep it cleaned and wiped with something like Froglube if you don’t want patina. The serrations also don’t help with the demand. I regretted selling my orange PE but this is even better. If you ...

Re: Why are so many people concerned with perfect blade centering?

I haven’t read the last 12 pages but Spyderco’s are high performance tools first, jewelry second. Some models with exceptionally high msrps can check both boxes but at the end of the day even the best collaboration is 10-25% of the custom price and that process is going to create more imperfections....

Re: PM2 lock sounds like finger nails on a chalk board

Maybe a little pencil graphite on the interface will keep it quiet. I too think this will fix itself.

I’d recommend not taking it apart unless you are extremely good at that. It’s quicker and more reliable to return a product than argue with the warranty dept after you failed a self-repair.
