Re: Sprint Run Super Blue Dragonfly

I actually love the steel, but in kitchen knives. I agree. I love SuperBlue, but I think the type of knife it's used in really matters... and it excels in kitchen knives. I also have the Endura and Stretch in Super Blue but never use/carry them. I'm interested in these Dragonflys, but I'm not sure ...

Re: Was the Nirvana just too expensive?

At 4mm, the blade is too thick for my uses... I have a Paysan with the 4mm blade stock. Similar grind too. I normally prefer thinner blades but I've been surprised by how well it cuts. I used it to break down some cardboard the other day and it sliced through it just fine. I'm not sure what you're ...

Re: Invitation to the 16th Spyderco Meet in Amsterdam

There’s no reason to be so disrespectful. You’ve stood out in this regard over the past week that you’ve increased posting here. Spyderco makes the rules for the event that they go through the extensive effort to host. You address my "disrespect" yet you ignore my point. Interesting. What...

Re: Price increases 2023?

It's simple economics folks... cost of production goes up (supplies, raw materials, transport, labor, etc.), especially with very high levels of inflation, and that cost ultimately gets passed to the consumer otherwise there is no viable business. It's happening with everything and people should ex...

Tactical-Store is a Division of OpticsPlanet, so they have similar marketing practices (i.e., listing when not actually in-stock).

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

I just received my CPM 15v Manix2 in the mail from National Knives! A few thoughts on the new knife even before I've used it: 1. It came wrapped in a yellow towel... kind of odd, but ok. Is this a National Knives thing? Yes. I like National's idea to wrap the box in a microfiber cloth. Better than ...

Interesting that shipping from BHQ is coming through Roanoke, VA... for the 15V Manix :zany
BladeHQ has a storefront/operation in VA, maybe to better compete with east coast business and companies like KnifeCenter?

What surprises me more is how little excitement this offering has generated on this forum. :shush
I would say it's the mint green handle color. That's a big turn-off for me and likely many others.

Re: High Performance Delica Excitement

I think this will be a VERY popular sprint run, especially considering the large fan base for the Delica and the amount of time the model has been in production. So I would advocate for a sprint run at high numbers. Regarding steel... VG-10 isn't my favorite, but I think it performs very well with v...

You're right... the fade anodized clip looks phenomenal on these scales!

Re: Cutlery Shoppe & LynchNW modified Rex45 PM2

I got mine! This PM2 is so flipping awesome... probably the best PM2 I've handled. The Titanium scales are oddly smooth (except for the anodized geometric pattern), and yet have great grip and traction at the same time. Blade is perfectly centered and action is so smooth. I'm very, very impressed. G...

Re: Cutlery Shoppe & LynchNW modified Rex45 PM2

I picked up the PM2, it was too hard to resist! These titanium Lynch scales have been a long time coming to market. I’m assuming these include Casey’s single liner delete modification whereby they only use one stock liner (the compression lock side). He integrates the D-shaped hole for the pivot di...

Re: Rex 76 vs. Rex T15

Interesting. Thank you for those links. The article and analysis seems to imply that Rex 76 and Rex 45 may not be that different in terms of performance, which I find surprising. Sounds like a need for some real-world testing!

Rex 76 vs. Rex T15

Rex 45 is one of my favorite steels, so I was very excited to see two new Mule Teams in Rex 76 and Rex T15. But I'm wondering if anybody has information or experience with the potential differences in performance between Rex 76 vs. Rex T15? From Spyderco's description and their Steel Chart it looks ...

Re: Mini Yojimbo Prototype ?

If you've owned a Yojimbo 2 then I think you'll see it's quite foolish to assume any part of his design is accidental. I never said or implied the design features are accidental. I'm sure there very good reasons behind the design. And I still "don't love" the dead space between the index ...
