I think that it is intentional. It looks like a way to keep the tang from catching on the edge of the FRN and keeping the blade from getting scratched by multiple openings.

Some of my local gun stores take gently used knives in for trade. I have found some of them in pretty good condition. Most of them appear to be knives that were purchased on a whim, and were sold because they weren't a perfect fit for the user.

I rarely buy knives that have sharpening choils for that reason. It tends to catch on rope and nylon webbing and that makes it dangerous in marine environments.

I know this may sound condescending, but check for lint in the lock interface.

Despite all of the advocates of full belly knives, the work of one of our own makes a stunning case for straighter edges.

I thought that the Lum Tanto would be my grail, but the tip is just too thick for my liking. If you ever get to carrying two knives, the compromise doesn't exist anymore. I have my beater blade and a slicer. For some of us that carry multiples, ( Doc), you can have a knife for all occasions! :D

It's cool that someday someone will pull this up and will appreciate your kindness and skill! That chance would be greater with a few more tucks. :)

I have been trying Coon P and have been very pleased. SMKW recommends it for all knives and safe queens in particular.

Chapman, Your pics sent me over the cliff. I can't believe how smoothly the blade comes out. The ergonomics are perfect for smaller hands like I have. The quickness of deployment rivals many of my favorite designs. My biggest concern with the regrind is, this is a very thin edge. It's kind of like a...

I jumped on it and thank God it was still there. Of course, I got bit within the first 5 minutes of playing with it. :) The action is very smooth, so you have to be careful when the blade swings shut. I can see why the original had so much tang on the blade. Thank you for all the help Spydie bros. ,...

All of my tip-up knives have to have a good detent. I have never had a problem with them opening on their own. For me, tip up is much quicker as I have been carrying this way for so long.
