I think there was an error at SFO.

When I'm at equilibrium, I'm an introvert which makes me a good worker, but today I feel like a renegade. I hope I don't run into police.

I can't wait for another Jester (or two). This is my favorite in the ladybug family other than the hawkbill.

What if a substitute drama teacher wants to put on a production of West Side Story? Hasn't anybody thought of the fact that substitute drama teachers need to teach diverse perspectives, especially those of minority street tuffs? What if my knife identifies as a completely-legal folder? Bill C-16 say...

Re: Could most modern maintenance shops produce knives?

Anyone with a chunk of high carbon steel, a grinding apparatus, a piece of railroad track, a hammer, a torch, and a bit of know how can make knives. Being that railroad maintenance shops would have those things, one could do it pretty easily, and even heat treat. People do it all of the time. Modern...

Re: T-Mag Sprint...any interest?

I once offered Spyderco a magnetic adjustment to one of their lock patents that would have opened up massive handle real estate in major sellers, and they passed because of the credit card issue mentioned above.

For that reason, I don't think they're going to do magnetic anything any time soon.

Re: Flashlight apps = spyware

It is easy for people to fear what they don’t understand. I have consulted with people to help them with their computers, devices and software (I have been in the “IT” business for fifty-three years and retired from IBM) who believe the strangest things. A number of my clients have tape or Post-It ...

You can polish diamond on diamond, you can burn it, and cut it by laser. I would probably laser sharpen.

Spyderco already kind of makes diamond knives - they coat their blades with DLC.

I always get a kick out of the composition charts without any of the xrd. The XRD is at least half the story.

Re: Theories on the invention of the edged tool

1. I would tend to agree that the initial discovery of the “artificial” edge was accidental, but the idea of that had to register in someone’s brain in order to have been repeatable and teachable to others. 2. I would have to ask how sticks were sharpened without a tool, which would most likely hav...

Electrolosis plating from the pot on to the knife blade. You made your own conducting solution. :) You had electrons shooting all around there.
