I'm pretty sure the implication was that this would be the "best bet" if you found yourself in the unfortunate situation of having nothing but a knife, not that a knife would be your best bet in this situation. Either way, I'm stepping out of this one as these threads seem to always get w...

Warrior. Basically in the event of a dog attack, your best bet is to allow them to bite your off hand forearm, then stab them with anything you're carrying. I've seen potentially deadly pit bull attacks ended this way, and though the person suffered bite wounds on their arm, they didn't get mauled ...

I hear Glock and Smith & Wesson both make a really nice tool for fending off and killing attacking animals... ;) If that's not an option, then pepper spray/bear spray would be better than a knife because it allows you to maintain distance. If you're dead set on a knife, then a larger folder like...

A good rule of thumb, regardless of vulnerability, is to change the passwords to your important accounts on a regular basis and NEVER use the same password for all of your accounts. Have separate passwords for email, banking, online retailers, social websites, etc. That way if someone manages to gra...

I personally like the M&P much more over the XD if you are not a Glock fan. I feel the M&P gives way more features and better value than almost any other polymer gun on the market currently. This!!!!! If you're not going to get a Glock, go with an M&P. Stupid grip safety on the XD is st...

S10 is 2.75" and the S15 is 3.4".

The S15's body is a bit narrower though. I don't know about the S10, but you can buy an extension for the S15 that can make it a 2xAA light for even longer run times.

While I'm no flashlight expert by an stretch of the imagination, I have no problem recommending the Olight S15. A co-worker of mine recommended this same light to me several months ago and I have no regrets about buying it. It is compact, has multiple light levels, a pocket clip and runs off of AA b...

There was some type of agreement between Spyderco and BM at the time that allowed BM to use the "hole" for a period of time but that agreement was voided.

The discussion about this always got a little..."heated".

Like Yab said, better to let this sleeping dog lie.

If it has to be a Spyderco and has to be folder, I would go with a beast back lock, i.e the Chinook.

That was a nice deal! Wish I would have caught that one. I've been thinking about picking one up for summer carry.

40 degrees inclusive...

I actually have one of those (Sharpmaker 203MF) that I purchased in the late 90's and I still use it for touch-ups or for sharpening SE knives.

Jason, I guess my original response came off as overly defensive, I apologize for that. In your first post, you were making declarations but seemed to have lacked the knowledge that both knives will continue to be available at the same time, and also Sal has already said that the Military 2 is alre...

I'm not about to dig through both BF and THIS forum but Sal has verified in both that the classic Military 1 will remain in the lineup even after the Military 2 comes out. The Military 2 is already in the works as discussed by Sal as recent as six months ago... So you can stop the thought that it i...

40 degrees inclusive works very well...

They take to a strop very well too...

It doesn't take very much to bring the edge back on them. The steel they use isn't that hard.

cqi. Not much CQI needed for a design that has withstood the test of time with very little change. And that's very likely why the new design still hasn't appeared and probably won't any time soon. It's a major financial risk changing a proven design that's been in the line-up for years just to sati...

Dremels are great for softening up the edges and adding a chamfer to the hole...

A marble works well, though not as efficient as a dremel, if you're just looking to smooth out the edge w/o adding a chamfer
