I've not ordered from them in a while (about 18 months), but I used to order from them a lot. They aren't always the cheepest, heck of a range though, but I'd never had a problem with them in the past. I can't comment on their customer service, as I just clicked the button and the items would turn u...

Ah, someone with good taste Now all we need is for Spyderco to re-release the micarta handled Calypso Jnr with one of the new supper steels (my vote for S30v). Now that would be something. Walk softly, carry a big stick.

Yep, I'd have to agree. It seems to have the benifits of a number of other locks. The speed and slickness of a liner lock, and the stregnth of a lock back. It's definately one of my favourites Walk softly, carry a big stick.

My experience of them is not good. It took several weeks for me to get a response from them as to whether they would ship overseas as I wanted to order a Rookie from them. The response when it came said they would ship the Rookie overseas, but only after I supplied a scan of my drivers licence. I ha...

Very nice !!

I have a Police "screaming eagle", and it's one of the very few knives I can't bear to carry.
Good find.

"Slipjoint is the name of the lock. Just like on a regular SAK, if I am correct. Shiden" Yes and no. When throwing around ideas we asked for something that was easy to open one handed, but was a lot harder (but not impossible) to close one handed, and didn't lock for legal reasons. Apparen...

I can only imagine the difficulties in "risking" a respected brand by introducing a more discount line.

Thanks for the straight talking and I hope everything works out fine

I don't think it has much to do with the colour of the handle, but I must admit that the bead blast'ed clip with black spyder is really stylish. I think it is more to do with the fact that the black version wasn't available for quite a while. There were us old time Calypso fans that will jump at any...

The uses for an oversized (in comparrison to the blade) handle are many. Take the Dodo. The main use for the Dodo is slicing opening packaging and splitting sheets of material (it's certainly what it does best), and for this the handle shape really helps to focus the point of pressure. All to often ...

VG-10 is not a bad steel to sharpen, as Dialex said, certainly not as hard to sharpen as CPM-440V. It might not be that the Sharpmaker has difficulty sharpening your VG-10 blade, instead it might be that the edge needs re-profiling to match the Sharpmaker's fixed angles. Basically if your edge grind...

About 10 years ago I was looking for a decient folder. Not being on the internet at the time I had to rely on magazine articles, and over here magazine articles featuring knives are very rare. It came down to either a Benchmade or a Spyderco. At the time I thought the Spyderco range looked a little ...

There's a saying, "you can have steel that is easy to sharpen, or a steel that will hold an edge well, but not both". What makes S30v so special is that at last there is a steel that it is relatively easy to sharpen, and holds a terrific edge. When I recieved my first S30v steel knife I wa...
