Cool knife store

Today I went to House of Blades in Ft. Worth. What a cool store! I've never been to a dedicated knife store before. Here's their website.

If you get anywhere remotely nearby you definitely want to find time to go there.

I just picked up the CCR from House of Blades in Ft. Worth, a dealer listed on the website dealer locator. What a cool store! They do an email list and from Thanksgiving to Christmas they have selected items buy one get one free. If you are ever in the northwest part of Ft. Worth you definitely want...

What's the difference CCR and CCR2?

What is the difference between the Cara Cara Rescue and the Cara Cara Rescue 2? I can see minor differences in the grip shape with emphasis on minor. I see a 1mm difference in a couple of measurements. I see the clip shape is different. Is that it or is there something else? At this point it seems t...

The Perrin falls way outside the budget constrained parameter given although it looks like a cool knife.

I just got the DHL one. I wish there was a button to press to cause the sender to be slowly electrocuted when they next touched their keyboard.

Hams have the same problem as knife guys. They like to accumulate radios and unlike knives the radios take up a good bit of room. They are also harder to pass as 'that old thing?'.

You can get started very inexpensively on the VHF/UHF bands. You have limited range with them but if you are in range of a local repeater you can get up to maybe a 50 mile radius and at times some farther. That could be done for less than a hundred dollars with used equipment and a little luck. From...

Looking at them some more just now it seems the Atlantic Salt and Rescue are the same knife as well as the Endura and Pacific Salt being the same knife or both being very very close pairings at least. That may be why those appeal to me more strongly than some of the others. At this point I think I'm...

I'd like to go but I think it's cheaper to pay regular prices than travel a thousand miles or more to get to the sale.

Caspian for dry land EDC??

How is the Caspian for a dry land EDC knife? I like the Caspian 2 quite a bit but am not sure how it would be out of the water. Is anyone using it for EDC? If so, how are you carrying it? Thanks for any and all input.

Which knife??

I want a new knife that I need like another hole in the head but then what's new? I've been shopping online at Cutlery Shoppe and narrowed it down to the following. Any thoughts/comments/hints/warnings/etc. are welcomed and encouraged. The folders are leading the suspect list. Atlantic Salt Yellow $...

Who else is a ham radio operator?

73, W5DAJ The story of my call that doesn't match my initials at all. My favorite uncle was a radio operator in the Navy in WW2. After the war he got his ham license and for as long as I can recall he was W5DAJ. He is SK now and I was able to get his call. I will keep it all my life and hopefully pa...

I would like to have one if it would fit into the budget. I suspect selling out a production run of them would be about as difficult as giving away courtside tickets for the NBA playoffs.

I've got a Nikon S560. It's a small camera that will fit in a shirt pocket. It has a very good zoom range, several different automatic settings for portraits, landscapes, etc. and was $250 when it was a new model. I'm not sure if it's still in their line but if not there will be the upgrade model fo...
