Re: How and Where i carry my Spyderco delica 4.
I often carry my LW Native 5 clipped inside my right sock. Sadly this method doesn't work well with larger or heavier knives, or with certain shoes, or with wimpy socks. But if all the requirements line up right, it's the most comfortable and convenient way I've discovered to carry a knife. If I'm w...

Re: Is now the time for a plain edge Rescue sprint?
I like the Rescue very much, but the one I like is the older first generation version, with the FRN and no choil and shaped like the Mariner. I like the longer blade so I wouldn't go for a sprint of those second generation ones. I want a sprint of the original Mariner-shaped Rescue with a flat-groun...

Re: Spyders That Never Had Teeth That Should Have
I really just want the delica and Endura SE models to come in ffg serrations like the delica wharncliffe. This...this is the biggest mistake in the current Spyderco line-up IMO. Yes I have been wanting this for a long time. If they end up making an ffg serrated Endura I'm buying both it and a norma...

Add some more black to the top and bottom, and it'd work fine for a calendar submission :spyder:

Re: The Delica Always Creeping In
Native 5, lightweight blackout plainedge version with an s90v blade, made from swapping parts with a normal black Native and the Cutlery Shoppe exclusive. I like both my original Rescue and my serrated blackout Native more, but as far as "I need to grab a knife to have in my pocket today and ha...

Re: 2019 Forum Calendar Contest!
Here's a shot of my favorite model, the Native 5, and the backups I've bought of it. Two are serrated, two are plain, the serrated is my favorite EDC and is very good for cutting tough materials like rubber in the garage (which is where the photoshoot was conducted). I enjoy this knife a lot. https:...

Re: I think I have found my EDC
That handle material is beautiful as heck and I love the blade shape. :spyder: If they made a larger one someday, maybe in white FRN, I'd be all over it.

Re: FRN Police 4
I like FRN, but the transition from the scales, to the backspacer, and back, just isn't smooth, the backspacer protrudes some, possibly due to pressure from the lock spring. perhaps recess the backspacer like on the Native 5 LW? but please include washers :D ... Native 5 LW Backspacer, MUCH cleaner...

Abbazabba, I really love that photo of the Endura. The different textures in the image are very interesting together -- the FRN, the table, the foam in the cup. Super cool.

Re: FRN Police 4
I'd like a gray VG10 Police FRN to match my Endura. Alternatively, any color FRN with a DLC blade, because dye apparently works fine on FRN and I don't mind doing a little extra work to customize a knife to a superawesome blackout version. Full serrations would be nice too. No liners preferred.

Re: Review: original Rescue vs modern Endura
The stainless-handled C14 Rescue -- you mean the gen 2 version, a bit shorter with kind of a chunkier build, with the choil, right? My knife's a C14 Rescue also, but it's from the first generation, with the FRN and no choil and shaped like the Mariner. I'm super into FRN and I like the longer blade ...

Re: Review: original Rescue vs modern Endura
Nice knife and review. Thank you! :spyder: Embry386; it looks like you have a patina on your VG10 Endura, is that the case? If so, how’d that happen may I ask? That is not the case; the blade did discolor after cutting some fruit and not cleaning it properly, but when I got around to giving ...

Congrats to the winners! Also, Mushroom, that is a gorgeous fish-tank shot of that knife.
Here is a photo of the (awesome) original Rescue knife, shown on a backdrop of my neighbor's defunct swimming pool:

Review: original Rescue vs modern Endura
I recently purchased an original Spyderco Rescue from eBay. It looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/yHK9dnf.jpg (beautiful knife) I love it very much and thought I'd post a review, using the Endura for comparison because that's a knife that most of y'all are familiar with. https://i.imgur.com/4WhCfB...

Imgur. Considering switching to Neocities, but they also do web hosting and are definitely less simple if you just want image hosting. I like the web hosting stuff because I'm into computers and it'd be nice to have a website to compile all my photos, reviews, etc, but if building a website sounds n...

Re: Is this unethical and immoral?
I would like to preface this by saying: I have been very horribly ill in the past, to the point that I've considered this a lot. Obviously I didn't go through with it -- decided I'd hold off for a year or two longer and see if my health improved, and it did, and things are going fairly well now. But...

Re: Recent/upcoming steel changes
S30V vs S35VN According to the producer of these steels, Crucible, S35VN is 20% tougher than S30V in the Charpy C notch test. Catra wear resistance testing is equal. Corrosion resistance is equal. S35VN is easier to machine in its annealed state than S30V. Target hardness for both is 58-61 hrc. Rec...
