Well Civilian, while my own tastes run more to "traditional" materials like wood and bone, I can see the appeal that the "high tech" ones like titanium and CF hold for some. So......... <p align="center"> <img src="http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-9/378550/c14_c...

You did the right thing by not opening that one Daywalker, it is definitely NOT from me. It's getting to the point where, between the spammers who troll places like this harvesting email addresses to spoof and the sicko's who write viruses, we forumites are going to have to come up with some kind of...

Embedding HTML in a reply can be a little tricky here, most of the tags work, but some of the other stuff (like special characters) does not.

Being left handed, I much prefer the metal reversable ones although I wind up taking them off more often than reversing them.

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum. My decisions are usually geared to, or at least narrowed down by, where I will be and what I will be doing. On most workdays I tend to stick with the ones that have proven themselves reasonably "sheeple friendly". My taste for knives I consider elegant looki...

Welcome to the forum Kali. I too first became acquainted with the Spyderco name through Thomas Harris' book. In my case it took over a year before I bought my first one, and almost another year and sixty other Spydies before, through the kindness of a good friend and fellow forumites here, I became ...

Very nice job on the SPOT CKE, and a great photo-tutorial on how to do it. May have to add yet another <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> to the "want list" after seeing that. I had wondered if anyone had tried wrapping one, as the open handle design ...

Well Chad, you know I'm in your corner on this venture. I just hope there are some shows here in the Northeast where it will be displayed, as I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

Suggestion for the Spyderco website

Daywalker's post regarding his design got me to thinking that it would be a real boon to us <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>fans if Spyderco put up a page with a list of shows they will be attending. Think something along the lines of the Events Calendar page...

Hi Johnny,

Love them Kiwis. Sal had mentioned the pearl ones a while back as upcoming AGR specials. He also mentioned stag as a possible third AGR special version. Wondering if the current situation regarding stag killed that idea, or if it may still show up sometime in the future.

Hi Kaizer, Have never drilled one, but have filed and sanded the handle on a Native, so am a bit familiar with reworking FRN. Works similar to wood, except, as you noted, that it will melt and "burn" from excessive heat. I'd opt for my little "eggbeater" type non-electric hand dr...

Hi Kaizer, As you've seen it's like a short fat awl. I beleive it is used primarily by sailors, to work the strands in a piece of rope apart. This is done in order to create a loop type splice in the rope (where you split the end strands apart then weave them back into the rope to create an eyelet o...

Thanks Kaizer, that monkey fist has a die (as in one half of a pair of dice) as its center, which made it a lot easier to do and keeps the finished product nice and square. A small crochet hook is also a great investment if you plan to do this and some of the other knots. Cord is cheap cotton garden...

Hi Kaiser, some nice knots there and their link to <A HREF='http://www.realknots.com/knots/index.htm'>Ropers knot page</A> makes it even better, as that one contains good directions for the monkey fist, hangmans knot, and some other neat knots as well. Another good one, if you have not seen it alrea...
