Ok guys, I think I may send it to Golden. Any idea on how a stonewashed finish will look with parts buffed? Should I ask for the whole thing to be polished? Will the titanium look lighter?

You must be a very cautious person who hasn't dropped many knives before. I, on the other hand, am a klutz and have the scratches on my knives and broken cell phones to prove it. It's not hard to imagine a titanium handled knife slipping out of your pocket like that, especially while running. I can...

I don't see anything about buffing/fixing dents. Do you still think they can do that and include it in the $20?

Alright guys, I think I may end up sending it to Golden for reprofiling/buffing. I still would love it if someone who's done his before could offer a dollar estimate since I would like to just send cash with it as Canada-USA payment transfers SUCK.

I am sorry to hear this, Scorpion. :( It always hurts to see a beloved Spydie get a few scratches/dings from a freak accident. After reading through your post, however, I do not believe that this unfortunate accident was due to a manufacturing defect on Spyderco's part. Most of the good folks here ...

Sad Techno Mishap, Was it Due to Defects? Find out here! (PICS!)

All joking aside, I'm feeling pretty low. My favorite (and third) Spyderco met with an accident on the way home today. Welp, back to the report: It was raining. I needed to be somewhere fast. I was running from the bus station to that place when I hear a small click, not unlike the sound a tic-tac c...

Do you plan on testing a Techno? Is it a difficult process?

Ankerson have you done this to the Techno or anything else with CTS-XHP? If not, is there anything with the same properties (D2?) that you did do a documented cut test with? Edit: Did some searching and saw you tested a Military with XHP. It seems to have similar properties to ZDP-189. The Techno is...

While it is very high quality, the Cuscadi carbon spacer for my Techno doesn't sit as perfectly flush as the factory backspacer and based on all the pics on the internet I've seen, this isn't just mine. I'd order a Ti backspacer in a heartbeat, though. Exactly! I always wondered why, since they hav...

Several different ways to post pictures so they are visible in the post instead of just a link. I used to shrink the pic down to under 100mb so they could be uploaded to the Spyderco forum. Now I upload the pictures to photobucket then open the pic there and copy the bottom link (there are 4) and p...

Funny you should say that. My big/small combo is the Techno and Manbug. One word, "perspective".

This thread is really making me feel young. You guys are all looking back at 30, saying, "Ah yes, I'd have bought X back then." Let's just say I'm closer to half of 30 than 30. If you're wondering, "What do the young whippersnappers carry theses days?," my collection is, in chron...

I was torn between making a new thread or not, since we're already all talking techno here. So, couple more questions. And hey, pics I guess. On a scale of 1 to going insane, how worried should I be about this dent, which the seller didn't let me know about? http://i.imgur.com/DdjGLEh.jpg And lastly...

Does anyone else with a Techno think I have the wrong clip? I bought it on a forum, and I think the seller made a clip swap because mine doesn't look bead-blasted/stonewashed.

I just meant that the Military is a huge knife. I would give an 11 year old a Delica at most, though probably a Manbug or dragonfly.
