Re: 2+ years of SE Salt 2 daily use by a non knife AFI

The Salt 2 SE is my all time favorite knife.
Yes, it has a lot of things that "on paper" aren't perfect, but it is a capable tool.

I'm tempted to get a PE H1 as well, and both versions of the LC200N.

I may sell my entire folder collection just to have "simple" Seki Salt Spyders.

It puzzles me why the Salt line has no CE options.

I got no knives at all  Everything I got can be eaten or drunk :D maybe I should learn those tricks to swallow knives in the hope someone gifts me on next year  This is the first knife anyone has ever bought me. Re: Test suggestions

Cut zip ties... Against a metal tube
Cut rope... On top of a brick
Cut food... On top of a ceramic plate

All things "normal" people do everyday with their knives.

Re: Edge stability test

What these tests tell me is that no matter what the steel your balde is made of, if you bang it on a hard place the edge will be ruined. I learnt this from real use, and that's why I like easy to sharpen steels like VG-10 and H1. I'm pretty sure it will take a whole lot less metal removal to clean ...

Re: Sharpening BD1N

Can't say about BD1N because I don't have any, but lately I only use diamond and brown stones.
My fine and Ultra Fine stones ive in the back of the drawer... I sharpen VG-10, H-1 and ZDP-189.

Re: What’s Your Favorite Underrated Sleeper Knife?

Aqua Salt. Everyone knows about it but its rare to hear someone talking about it. Its usefulness extends beyond marine environments. Its a nice lightweight knife for hiking and camping. https://i.postimg.cc/jdSH0DMG/20201117-105436-HDR.jpg I agree, for the exact same reasons. Hope there is an LC200...

Re: Pac salt green frn lc200n shipping to dealers!

It might be an illusion caused by the camera lens, but it sure looks like the scale is warped on on side. Well, now that could be an explanation why seemingly with the new Pac Salt 2 there are more problems with side to side play than with the old Pac Salt 1 (my "1" does not have any whatsoever, th...

Re: Recs for Self Defense while running/biking?

Usually I refrain to comment on self defense with knives' topics... But here's my opinion, as the OP stated defense from animals as well. I'm no "master" in self defense and on the last few years I haven't trained any martial arts, krav maga or combat sports (tho I did it for more than 15 years). Fi...
