One of the few knives I regret selling is an Delica 3 with black blade and OD green handle. Don't know why I ever let it go, but it's kind of along the lines of what you're thinking of. In retrospect, it was very cool...

I recently got both of these models, the first folders I've added to my collection in a while, and I can honestly say that I can't remember being as jazzed about two knives, Spyderco or otherwise. As has been noted, they're very different--but equally great. I, too, love the Techno's solid feel and ...

I'm with you in the "like more than I thought" category. I wondered how the Air would fare compared with my red bone Kiwi. But the Kiwi has been a non-starter the past few weeks. The Air has become my favorite going out/dress knife. I really like the look and texture of the scale material ...

I have both models in the original CF versions and like them a lot. Actually, I own two original Cats, which should tell you my preference between the two. The Cat is my main daytime EDC knife, sharing time with the Air for "dress" carry. For my purposes it has everything I want in a perfe...

The Pro Venator was my first Spyderco. I also get nostalgic over some of the earlier models, like the Goddard family, the original green Lum Chinese, and the Standard, which I kept in my collection. But, as with ties or suits I never gave away, I've lived long enough to see the older styles come bac...

Hi Elliot, First of all, welcome! You seem to prefer to EDC mid to larger blades. And I, too, prefer G-10, although the textured carbon fiber Spyderco uses also is very nice and provides a secure grip. It's easier on the pocket edge fabric, too. The Para 2 is a great all-around choice. For EDC model...

Thanks, Gbellah, for the excellent comparison photos. I've really been curious about how similar the Air is to the Kiwi. I have a red bone Kiwi that I use as my "dress" knife and have been considering getting an Air. But I guess I'll need more dress occasions. Seriously, the Air is very te...

I'd love to see the G-10 Delica in the same earth brown as the recent sprint Para 2.

The only models I have more than one of are the models that rotate as my EDCs and see the most use: the original Paramilitary, the Jester, and the Caly/Caly Jr. family.

Thanks, Brian, for the review. How would you compare this to the Schempp Khukuri? They seem to share similar blade angles although the Ulize is larger blade-wise and has thumb grooves.

Great photos, thanks. I've been anxiously curious (is that even a term?) about the Air. But I'm wondering how it compares in hand and in use with, say, the CF Kiwi. If it's even better, I'm in...

I like the idea of navy blue FRN, but also would like to suggest the toxic green of the Navy Catcherman and old Jester, for visibility in outdoor-use knives. An updated 3" fixed blade like the Vagabond in toxic green would be awesome for camping/hiking--something along the lines of the yellow A...

Sorry about the mistake above re my comment on confusing the Manbug and the G-10 Jester. Thanks for correcting it. I have both and like them a lot, although I still give the Jester the edge. Re the comment above about pink knives for women...I can only say that my wife chose that Jester color, so it...

My wife carries a pink FRN Jester on her keychain and likes it a lot. I carry a micarta one. If you watch eBay SS Jesters come up pretty regularly, generally not insanely priced. Another Jester option is the new readily available (for now) sprint version which has gray G-10 handles with SS bolsters....

I've been EDCing an Arc AAA Premium on my keychain for years. It's a little tank--not powerful (only about 10 lumens) but adequate for keychain use. My wife and daughter have Fenix EO1 AAAs, sufficient for their EDC use. And they're inexpensive enough so that if you lose them...oh well. I also carry...

Funny the Vagabond should come up. I was thinking about starting a thread on it. I picked up a mint one on eBay a few months ago for a reasonable price. I've always kind of liked the Vagabond concept but never actually saw one in person. I think the comment above about intended use is accurate. I pu...

Evil D, you have come up with an amazing idea for a hybrid! The ManJester you describe would qualify as one of my fantasy Spydercos--especially if it had G-10 handles (maybe without the bolsters) or textured CF or Micarta...or anything but SS. I'm in for two (or more).
