No offense taken! I just get a little passionate in the heat of battle!!! It is great to hear another's opinions. However, I think that we should continue this conversation through other means featuring that this is a knife forum. If you want to continue this debate, mail me @ garavamj@slu.edu Thank...

Ok, here is my experiences on the issue, however, I have been in this exact same issue. I am 20 now and go to one of the best schools in the midwest. I wouldn't be here without my parents. They are helping me pay my 20,000/year tuition and have provided me with much support. About 3 years ago, I got...

My point is simply that there are MANY alternatives to carrying a knife or gun for self-defense that are far more ethical. Pepper spray for one is even better than a knife. You don't even have to get within striking distance to use it. There are also a number of batons (ASPs) and stun guns that can ...

I agree with VampyreWolf. The serrations are a must. For an EDC I would suggest a Delica, but for work, the stainless Endura. And yes,the serrated cricket is one of Spyderco's best!!!

Alds, I live in St. Louis. Drop me an email, I can tell you some of the better places here to get Spydies. As far as the co-pilot goes. I would get plain. Serrations on small knives like the co-pilot tend to get snagged while you are cutting. And because there is less leverage while you are cutting,...

Here's my opinion on the matter. I carry two knives at all times. A mid sized folder and my toad. I would not pull a knife on anyone, anytime. I don't think that I could live the consequences of killing someone, even if they had that intention for me. If they want my car keys, my money, my wallet, t...

Personally, I would pick the Harpy because of its unique blade shape. However, if you are in an environment whereas it might get you in trouble. Stick with the plain Delica. Either way though, you can't go wrong!

This was discussed in another forum that I participate in. Flicking can dent or wear your stop pin but in a lockback like the merlin, I am not sure. It might further wear the lock or make it more loose. I wouldn't do it often.

Hmmmmmmmm. Many faves. Gunting just came yesterday, like it alot. Dragonfly and cricket are the best of the smaller spydies. All time fave is the harpy.

I would have to say that I agree with Moose. I don't think that the matriarch or civilian should be carried unless you are looking for trouble. I would carry a gunting and am hoping to when mine comes tomorrow. remember also that training does help.

The spyderedge is definitely not for precise cuts but for the copilot, I would get the spyderedge. I have both configurations and for that size of knife, the spyderedge is just more powerful. But once again, it all depends on your needs.

My serrated Dragonfly was my first but the clip broke off so I don't carry it anymore. I now carry a serrated pegasus and am currently saving up for a carbon fibre dragonfly. I miss carrying one badly!
