The idea I heard was that the scale material on a given Sage will reflect the materials used by the maker who invented the lock type. CF for the Walker liner lock, titanium for the RIL, etc. Since Spyderco invented the ball and compression locks, they may not use them on the Sage for a while, but if...

For a general/rough use fixed blade, these magic words are usually enough. The only thing I can think of to deter you is it's size, in which case you have some smaller fixed H1 blades to consider.

Yea, you're loco. ;) The comp lock is, as pointed out above, very strong and offers a good mix of benefits. With a little practice you can open and close one with one hand.
