I reported it as well. They just stole the brand name. Seller is in Thailand, big surprise.

Just received my new Starmate. I love the design and will gladly use it in my EDC rotation, but all the fit and finish issues mentioned above remain. I touched up the ricasso with a medium Sharpmaker stick, but it's still far from the usual Spyderco quality finish.

I just received my new Starmate, which I picked up for $160. It had the unfinished ricasso which I touched up using handwork with a medium Sharpmaker stick. I still have some work to do on it. The G10 scales do not quite line up with the liner holes for the clip screws and the scales have pretty sha...

There's nothing wrong with VG-10, but of the three steels you listed, ZDP-189 would be my choice for field dressing if I didn't have a fixed-blade handy. It's a bit harder to sharpen than VG-10, but holds its edge signficantly longer. A Stretch in ZDP-189 would be excellent for small deer. My first ...

Autos are fun, but something that no one has discussed is the safety switch on the autos to prevent premature deployment. One should not be carried without the safety engaged, which takes time to find and disengage if in a hurry for whatever reason. The Spydie hole doesn't require that initial step,...

If I recall correctly, Stanley Kubick's movie "A Clockwork Orange" is what caused the downfall of the auto knives, similar to "Bambi" negatively impacting hunting. Apparently emotion-tugging, fictional worlds drive politicos and the sheeple more than reality.

The only advantage that autos had years ago was one-handed opening. Now, the Spydie hole is the most efficient and reliable one-hand opening system. Spyderco makes some very nice autos, but IMO they have no operational advantage over the Spydie hole.

Great pictures as usual, Wouter! Thanks for your continued great work. I've had my Ti N5 for several months now and EDC it pretty regularly. It is a bit heavier than other knives of the same size, but not an issue for me at all. It has a comfortable, solid feel in my hand and cuts like crazy. The fi...

I specifically bought a CE Military BB for hiking. I also have a CE Endura 4 BB. I like a CE for outdoor use. The Spydie edge cuts through vines and other vegetation like a hot knife through butter. I usually prefer plain edges on shorter blades, but have a CE Ladybug that's a wicked cutter. The ser...

It seems to me that these clones are made by the same persons or industry, nobody can't do something? A legal action or something like this? Something to scare them...are becoming always more unrecognizable!!! Most likely Chinese. They are infamous for copying whatever they think that they can sell...

This particular seller is on my s*%t list... He also has a fake spin and a fake UKPK he's trying to pass off as real. I politely informed him that they were replicas as was assured that he would correct the problem immediately. I felt like I'd done my good deed for a while because he seemed genuine...

That's just a Balance pin, not a knife. Spyderco makes these for select models. It looks legit from the picture.

I rotate my Ti Chaparral in with my dress knives and haven't notices any wear in the pattern or scratches. I don't keep anything metal in that pocket, so would not expect any. I also saw Mr. Blonde's pictures of the Ti Chappy stealth pattern and had to have one. That man is a menace who has cost me ...

Nor have I noticed any fit and finish difference between the locations. As Sal noted, the required handwork will introduce some variations in individua...

I received mine yesterday. It's beautiful! Fit and finish are superb and the Ti fluting is incredible. The fluting lines have a braided appearance. It's just the right amount of grippy. The knife fits great in my hand and cuts like a fiend. Well worth the wait.

Welcome to the forum! Almost all of my Spydies (see below) are screw construction. All still perform perfectly. I much prefer screw to pin construction.
