Nice score, Ted. I have a plain-edged Executive and agree with your comments about the size, weight, and feel of this design. I wonder if it is still feasible for Sypderco to do the handle inlay treatment for the current popular ss models? Imagine the ss handled Police, Endura, etc. with a similar i...

For ergonomic handle design, my favorites are the Tim Wegner and the Peter Herbst. I can't describe the technical merits of the designs but I can say that they sure feel good in your hands.

Tim Wegner (I like it better than the Military), JD Smith (I only gave it up as an EDC to make room for a Sebenza), Zowada (I like it better than the Native), and Shabaria (I just plain flat-out like this one) are all under-rated, imo. I can't figure out why Spyderco didn't sell a kazillion of them....

A CE Tim Wegner. (Not the new one). It would be perfect if it was PE'd and tip-down with a black clip.

Luvbug, someone said of Zen Buddhism, "...you cannot teach another person about Zen; one has to live it to begin to understand it..." (or words to that effect).

It's sort of like that with a 'Fly.

These threads are always fun. First, I'd give Joyce and Patti a big, big raise or bonus. Then I would shoot off a non-revocable memo to the factory instructing them to start the production of a Wegner Magnum. Finally, I would commission "toothed" (I like that guy) to be the sole designer o...

Thanks, Jeweler. It is interesting to see the names of the "charter members" of the Spyderco forum. Maybe we need to run a "Where are they now?" thread since we haven't heard from some of them in quite awhile.

My interest in recent models is not as great as my interest had been in older models. Recent purchases of Spyderco knives are usually updates of older models or older models that I did not have a chance to purchase the first time around. The Yojimbo might change that trend. As far as forum activity,...

I have not personally done business with Glasshart but based on previous threads on this forum her reputation has been that of an honorable, highly regarded business person. The situation seems quite "out-of-character" for the Glasshart I've been reading about--and that, gives rise to my c...

I agree with KBR on the flat grind plain edge Police as the standard by which all other pumpkin cutters/carvers are measured against. Cut me ==> <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Upon attempting entry into my car, I deeply scratched the paint of the rear door with the clip of my Military. (This happened shortly after I had purchased the knife which was carried in my right rear pocket). Maybe that's why to this day I haven't really taken a liking to the Military and have alwa...

Hi Jeweler. My "EDC" is subject to change everyday in the morning and then also subject to change again during various times of the day depending on how I feel or as the situation changes. I like all of the knives I've bought and I try to give most of the folders some carry time. Since I d...

danzo, I think you've got one of the newer (improved) models--since you mentioned that it's a plain edge (I think the older versions were all combo edges). Another tip-off should be that the blade on the new version is VG-10 steel. Between the old and new Zowada, imo, the newer (improved) version is...

rorschach, thanks for the tip. I'm not familiar with the Design 50 tube. For my information, are there photographic advantages of this flourescent bulb over other types? Also, do you set your white balance for flourescent or leave it on automatic? (I'm assuming you're taking digital pictures). Thank...
