Mix the original bolstered micarta handle with the later flat grind blade and it would be great. I am not so sure about this. In my book original C83 Persian is one of best looking Spydercos ever produced. And lines of hollow grind contribute to this. Change this to ffg and part of the beauty will ...

Micarta Persian is my favorite Spyderco. Wish would could get a sprint in Micarta and new steel.

Think I read the prototype came in at 4 oz. my guess is it didnt have skeletonized liners yet

Caly3 fills that spot of a larger dragonfly for me. (Dont mind the pitting on the zdp as knife was lost under 4' of snow last winter.)

If you are as attached as you say, I would leave it home and get a travel knife. You wont be so concerned if it was lost.

Just out of curiosity, mastiff, were any of the models you had sprint runs? I have heard that the QC on sprint runs might be somewhat tighter than normal production runs. My 2nd one came in today. This one is a perfect example and went right in my pocket. I love the slim carry of the caly. My hand just slides right by it like its not even there.

I would be in for one. The 3.5 would of been my 1st choice.

Hopefully the new one thats on its way will be tight. As for the gap happy one it will go back to spyderco if they see fit to replace, if not sold to someone who wont mind it.
