I’m hoping that DLT ordered this as an exclusive pre-Covid, and it’s about to drop. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, they really are darn near perfect knives. Congrats! LynchNW, PacificSons and others sell aftermarket black clips (you may well know that already!).

Re: Is the Sage 5 LW actually better than the Para 3 LW? A side-by-side comparison and use diary.

I slightly prefer the Para 3 LW. Just little differences of course! The radiused edges of the scales are more comfortable, even though the Sage handle has a smidge more pinkie finger room. The Para blade stock is a few tenths of a mm wider which gives me no detectable difference in cutting, but is s...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

Loving this Precision Adjust Dremel mod. I got a Worksharp clamp adapter from Gritomatic, it fits a KakBritva clamp - wide with a split in the middle and a bolt on each side for adjustment. Holds the FFG blades perfectly. It does put the blade out farther from the sharpener, so you have to use an an...

Re: First spyderco, uneven plunge lines

The asymmetry is visible from the spine of the blade and the thumbhole - the plunge looks about 1mm off from one side to the other. I don't want the OP to get ganged up on for what I also felt was a warranty issue with my knife, possibly from the same batch. But ultimately I'm happy with my knife an...

Re: First spyderco, uneven plunge lines

I had the same uneven plunge grind on a recent S45VN para 3 purchase, so it might be from the same batch. All my other Spyders have mirror-image grinds on both sides of the blade. The warranty department told me this is within spec but offered to credit me for a replacement, which would have been sa...

Re: Warranty woes

I sent a knife in at the end of the month and I got a phone call back shortly after. The knife is apparently in spec, but I was offered full credit for the cost. I imagine this was an easy one for them to close out, since it did not require repair. To me that says they are working and triaging.

Re: Delica4 Lightweight CPM-S30V Wharncliffe Teal FRN C11FPWCTL MGE Wholesale (Japan)

Love this scale color. Delica handles are a bit too small for my hand. Did they ever run this color FRN in one of the bigger grip, lightweight models (para 3, sage, native...)?

Re: hat are the "grit" ratings of the Double Stuff pocket sharpening stones?

Dear srjaynes49: Welcome to the Spyderco Forum. Ceramic stones are not graded in grits like sandpaper, where the abrasive particles pass through a specific size of mesh to be sized. We also use the same basic size of abrasive particles in all our stones. Their final coarseness is then carefully con...

Re: Your Magna Cut Mule performance.

The only thing that has slowed my mule's edge down is carving eucalyptus wood, very dense and hard. Been waiting to maintain the edge until it would no longer scrape-shave. I expect stropping will do it. No tip damage, which I was a bit worried about trying to carve spoon bowls.

Re: MT32/SRS13 Thoughts/Impressions

The edge bevel on my MT32 looks more acute that my Magnacut mule - if the Magnacut edge was 17 dps, the SRS-13 might average more like 15 dps? The edge is visually ground less evenly than the MT35, but barely - it's only fractions of a millimeter along the grind line here. The knife is just about ha...

Re: vg-10 observations

I've had a tiny bit of VG-10 rust spotting after sustained carry during sweaty exercise (and I mean neglecting it for months), but it wiped off with no abrasives and no pitting. It's easy to keep sharp, cuts good, would buy again. I think it will be fine for bike duty. Let us know how it does if you...

Re: Who got the SRS13?

I feel stupid asking this question, but does anyone know if G10 would be a safe scale material for kitchen knives? Would it absorb juices, safe with soap, would scales need to be removed before washing, etc.? You should be good to go, G10 hardly absorbs moisture (even less than micarta, if I rememb...
